One of the most popular comparisons on IT Central Station is Dynatrace vs New Relic.
Which of these two solutions would you recommend to a colleague evaluating APM solutions and why?
There's so much vendor hype out there in the market now. If you've checked out these solutions, which one do you recommend and for which use case?
Thanks for helping your peers make the best decision!
“Hands down” it would be Dynatrace. I did a POC, business case for it and used it for 7 years, both APM and One Agent (this last one was only a few months).
The biggest advantages to Dynatrace “One Agent”:
1. Agentless, i.e., do not have to configure startup processes, e.g., JVM args.
2. Automatically discovers your integration touchpoints out-of-the-box.
3. Can do root cause analysis down to the line of code in minutes.
4. Excellent integration to familiar perf test tools for easy correlation of APM data to Script steps.
