Amazon RDS on Outposts is expensive compared to other solutions. On a scale from one to ten, where one is cheap and ten is expensive, I rate the solution's pricing an eight out of ten.
The solution can get expensive fast. If you don't keep up when Amazon does any kind of maintenance, the price shoots up 20 to 25 times. You have to be very mindful of that and watch out for it. I put monetary alerts to see where the monthly spending goes up. It's not as straightforward, and it doesn't let you know when monetary increases occur if you don't make any changes when it comes to maintenance. I don't like the fact that I'm not informed that there'll be a monetary increase if these changes aren't made in a certain time frame.
