I've always found the pricing of Dell SC Series very good. I believe the product is being phased out because the pricing model was very cost-effective.

The SC software comes with it, so it tends to be cheaper compared to other technologies. It's bundled with hardware, so it's a bit difficult to say what the license costs, but the price of the solution overall is reasonable. I rate the SC series nine out of 10 for affordability.
The SC Series was priced fairly. I wouldn't call it either expensive or cheap because we had a very tight budget, so if they were able to fit in that type of budget, they met our expectations.
All the models and especially the entry model, the SC30/20, have a competitive price that is fair and offers very good value for money. It's reasonably and competitively priced.

The support we pay annually. Support typically depends on the array. It can range anywhere from $7,000 to a couple of hundred thousand dollars. It just depends on the specific one you're talking about and how big it is. It's based on size. The larger the array, the larger the maintenance cost. It's hard to really give you a range because the range is so wide. I don't even know if it'd be useful because you're talking anywhere from $5,000 to $250,000, depending on which specific array you're talking about.

I would not recommend the product. There are other, better products out there. This system is not a good fit for most customers. It's not only the fact that it's too old, but it has not developed any more since Dell bought it.

So far, the solution has been affordable for us. We have a 48-drive solution and that works great for our headquarters site. Their pricing goes by the number of physical drives that you have and the drives are not cheap. Whenever you want to upgrade something there is a price issue. For example, for a 4TB SSD, they may charge you seven grand or eight grand. It's expensive. So we try to get the maximum use out of what we have, for five to seven years, and then upgrade it.

Licensing, especially on the storage line, could use some simplification. It's not terrible, but, for example, with the Isilon series, they've gone to completely a la carte. A la carte is very difficult to traverse, when it comes to what you need. It would be more beneficial, at least from my point of view as a customer, if they did it more like car companies do, where there are package lines. That would be my one complaint.

The solution is affordable, but we are a large customer with Dell EMC and we have corporate level discounts. Having said that, everybody definitely, obviously, wants the cost to be lower. And now there is All-Flash and its price is going down day by day.

We have found it to be affordable. Comparing the cost with other hardware, it seems to be right in line with the compute and the storage that we get with it. The cost is a saw-off compared to other options because there's not a lot of difference between them. You just have to figure out what would be the best.

It's absolutely affordable. Again, not having to do a forklift upgrade, like some of the others have had to do in the past, it's very affordable for our customers and they continue to buy.
The partnership that we have with Dell EMC is great, so we always get to a solution that is affordable. We are A Dell EMC shop and we have been for a long time. A lot of that is not just because of the strength of the brand. A lot of that is because they build the best storage. For us, being enterprise-critical and having applications that process lots of transactions every day, we can't take chances on our applications and the ability of our storage to be reliant. Performance is important. Cost is absolutely important, but we're always willing to spend a little bit more for what we consider to be the best.

We have found the solution to be somewhat affordable. The scalability seems a bit more expensive than even buying a brand new one so far. That has been kind of a drawback.

It's very affordable. Anything from an SMB on up to the large enterprise - from a 3000 Series all the way up to a 9000 Series - with federation and you name it.
Dell EMC SC Series arrays provide a unified platform for the ultimate in performance, adaptability and machine-driven efficiency. SC Series software delivers modern features that help you meet aggressive workload demands using the fewest drives necessary. With an open, future-ready design, SC Series storage integrates seamlessly with applications and infrastructure, enabling you to scale on a single platform and add capabilities without forklift upgrades.
I've always found the pricing of Dell SC Series very good. I believe the product is being phased out because the pricing model was very cost-effective.
I would rate the pricing a five out of ten, where one is cheap, and ten is expensive.
There are costs involving the solution, vendor fees and product safety which are additional.

The solution is coming to the end of life. They don't really sell them as new products.
This solution could be better priced in comparison with other vendors.
The SC Series was priced fairly. I wouldn't call it either expensive or cheap because we had a very tight budget, so if they were able to fit in that type of budget, they met our expectations.
We have the basic license for the use of this solution and it is a permanent license. The overall cost could be less, it is expensive.
All the models and especially the entry model, the SC30/20, have a competitive price that is fair and offers very good value for money. It's reasonably and competitively priced.
Pricing is market-related and is flexible for the solution. Pricing depends on varying life cycles.
This product is too expensive compared to others, and I don't see any value in using it.

The solution is not expensive. Initialization is strait forward, not complicated They have a few features that can be licensed.
The pricing of Dell EMC Compellent is competitive.

The pricing of this solution is competitive.
We purchased the whole package at once. We don't pay any additional fees annually.
The solution is affordable. We bought an entry-level solution and, for the price and the amount of storage that we got, we consider it a deal.
It is affordable. We need more discount, but it's good. Pricing is more important than improving on dedupe or compression.

We have found the solution to be affordable.
It's definitely affordable. Of course, it would be better if they made it cheaper, even more affordable.
We have reviewed many platforms over the years. It is probably the best solution for its value.
We were able to afford two tiers of flash storage at a price where the competition was giving us one tier or just a handful of discs.
It has a good price point and offers some value-added enterprise features.
We have found the solution to be somewhat affordable. The scalability seems a bit more expensive than even buying a brand new one so far. That has been kind of a drawback.
It's a very affordable solution.
