HPE said that my company could use SimpliVity with VMware licenses, but HPE recommends that we separate it from the vCenter server. HPE wanted my company to purchase a few additional licenses. The licenses from the product are expensive compared to the other solutions in the market.
HPE SimpliVity is much more affordable than Nutanix or VMware vSAN, which are HPE's typical competitors. I don't have updated or up-to-date news about the tool's prices. Two years ago, the tool was less expensive. The first pair of servers was about 90,000 EUR, including three years of warranty. It is 30,000 EUR per year.
HPE SimpliVity offers competitive pricing, generally lower than some alternatives. However, I believe there is room for further price adjustments, where there might be opportunities for more competitive pricing.
The pricing is competitive. I would rate the pricing a seven out of ten, where one is a reasonable price, and ten is the most unreasonable pricing. There are no additional fees.
SimpliVity's price is excellent. You can get a good discount on the price, which is important for a small client. However, I'm not familiar with all the latest solutions because I've never implemented them. I only implement SimpliVity. It's not too expensive for a small client.

One big advantage with SimpliVity is that you don't need the higher license cost or VMware to put together a simple SimpliVity solution. You can run it as VMware essentials plus licensing. For the small customers, that's really quite affordable. But on top of that, you pay for SimpliVity licensing, so depending on how large your solution is, that could be quite a big part of the solution when it comes to cost. You can start very small. You can have one node as the smallest, but the recommendation is to have at least two nodes to get some redundancy when it comes to upgrades and things like that.

We spent $250,000 back in the day, and that was for two servers in my data center for that cluster. We then ran what they call an arbiter, and that took the place of a third server or the third node in the cluster. My DR site was one standalone server, and its horsepower was more than the two at my main site. It included my Cisco Switches that I needed to re-upgrade. It was comparable to what we were paying a year in VM.
The solution is expensive; not every budget can fit it. With the technical experts, for after-sales, you need to be a bit careful because it can burn your pockets if you don't expect it because there are only a few people available.

Since we were faced with having to replace our entire VMware system (three host servers and two SANs), we found that the cost of a two-node SimpliVity hyper-converged system was very close to what it would have cost to build a comparable conventional discrete system.
The price is comparatively okay. The solution is affordable and quite reasonably priced in terms of the product one gets. The licensing cost is all inclusive.

I think it's a complete package. We buy the license with support for five years. It's a subscription, I will say, but it's included when you buy the SimpliVity solution from HPE. You have a contract with the software warranty and upgrades. You can choose a license for one, three, or five years, and it's all included.

The pricing is expensive, and even more so due to the fact that we have an unfavorable exchange rate between the Turkish Lira and the American dollar. I have not seen any other costs over and above the licensing fee itself.

Our solution is on a perpetual license. The pricing itself is okay. It's not too expensive. There's a bit of confusion around licensing. Initially, SimpliVity did not talk about licensing for the software. However, later on, when the customers tried to update it, then SimpliVity said that they would have to pay for the update. Ideally, HPE should be very transparent about pricing and the licensing of this particular solution. It's not right now.
The hardware is expensive. For the same price, Cisco can provide more hardware specifications for us. The hardware costs are more of an issue than the licensing costs.

It is expensive for this market. Everyone says that it is a very good product, but the only complaint is about the price. The enterprises must evalute carefully what they want to do and how many people has tod do te job. A simple interface improve operational time
While at first clients always comment on the pricing being very high. However, once it's deployed, and they see how well it works, they don't complain. Therefore, I think it's quite fair.

While SimpliVity is not inexpensive, we found it was not significantly more expensive than the cost of buying equivalent host servers and equivalent SAN storage. HPE installed and configured the equipment as part of the purchase, so that was painless.
HPE SimpliVity is an HCI software solution that provides powerful data protection, reducing data loss along with lowering the risk of ransomware attacks on your enterprise.

HPE SimpliVity has many valuable key features. Some of the most useful ones include:
Flexible, compact architecture
Centralized management

Built-in data protection and disaster recovery
VM-centric management and mobility
Simple to deploy, manage, and scale
HPE SimpliVity...
The price is almost equal to VMware vSAN, making it not much cost saving. However, the time-saving during upgrades is notable.

Licensing is slightly more expensive in comparison to the competition but I think SimpliVity provides very good value.

It's a pretty expensive solution. Technical support is included in the pricing.
The pricing, for the most part, is pretty good. However, it could always be a bit less expensive.
Its price is pretty good as compared to the other solutions, but it is quite expensive if we compare it with non-HCI solutions.
Its licensing is quite easy. There is a model license, but it depends on the system you buy. There are no extra costs. There is only one license.

Full bundle licenses are available on a three-yearly basis with no additional costs.
The cost of this product is high, so some customers may be better off building their own system or buying their own servers and set of devices.

Its licensing is yearly.

We did get some quotes from Nutanix, and they were ballparks. So, it is not cheap, and there is nothing free, but those two were comparable.

There is not a license required for the solution.
Customers always complain that SimpliVity is a little bit higher in price point as compared to other solutions available in the market.
The pricing is expensive, and even more so due to the fact that we have an unfavorable exchange rate between the Turkish Lira and the American dollar. I have not seen any other costs over and above the licensing fee itself.
We currently have a yearly license, and I think the cost could be lower.
The licensing price is okay, there would be extra costs for replication licenses, for RapidDR but nothing on top of that.

The product is expensive.
There are licensing costs involved as virtualization comes pre-packaged in the solution.
The solution can be expensive if you are using a lot of nodes.
The hardware is expensive. For the same price, Cisco can provide more hardware specifications for us. The hardware costs are more of an issue than the licensing costs.
The licensing is on a yearly basis. The licensing cost also includes vCenter at a cost in the cloud solution.
We bought this solution as a package that included all of the hardware and all of the software.

It is not too expensive, but it is quite expensive for me.
It's about $10,000 monthly.
I believe that we bought the solution through some reseller in Brazil.
We're paying $3,000-$4,000 a month.
We signed a three-year contract.
For three years, it is $60,000 for three nodes. It is quite pricey.
The only thing that I think we are paying for is the VMware licenses, but we are enterprise, so it is not horrible.
For the VMware licensing, it is approximately $10,000 a year.
While SimpliVity is not inexpensive, we found it was not significantly more expensive than the cost of buying equivalent host servers and equivalent SAN storage. HPE installed and configured the equipment as part of the purchase, so that was painless.
Upfront costs seems high at first look, but after analyzing all the benefits of SimpliVity, we have come out ahead.
