My company has to keep on asking HPE distributors to offer the product at a better price, which is why I cannot disclose it. I don't utilize any licenses, which can be a reason why I have to pay extra money in addition to the standard license fees.

The pricing is moderate when you compare it with other products. It comes with a warranty when you purchase the product for three years. After three years, they don't have to depend on the model they charge you.
Navigating the pricing maze for HPE StoreOnce can indeed be a tricky ride. Based on my experience, one key strategy is to establish a solid relationship with your HPE rep. Communication is key—let them know your needs, budget constraints, and expectations upfront. For example, it worked for me here: https://andersenlab.com/projec...
So, before you jump in, gotta scope out in your storage. Get a grip on your data blow-up, dedupe numbers, and think about how you gonna scale up down the road. Having this unque insight will give you the upper hand when it comes to haggling' for deals that fit your exact needs, right?

I'm not into financials. I'm a technical guy. I just help with planning and designing a solution, and then others decide on pricing and configuration. I'm working as an external consultant, therefore, I don't have any decision-making there.

We have got a perpetual license, and we have access to all the features. If you are using cloud banks, you can store the internal data in HPE Cloud if needed. You can offload the data to the HPE Cloud. It is a licensed product. We have got around 10 TB of cloud bank storage with a one-time payment. We specifically took 10 TB for very critical offsite backups. We can also increase it in blocks if needed.

The license is part of the hardware. You don't need to buy or renew it separately. StoreOnce comes in a package: hardware and software. All the licenses come with it. Software licenses for backup solutions like Data Protector you do have to purchase separately, but in terms of the backup appliance, it comes with all the features and the license as part of it. You have to only purchase the application license but that is very cheap.
HP StoreOnce Backup is a data backup solution that provides a consistent, high-performance, scale-out architecture for your entire enterprise. Reduce the amount of backup data capacity by 95 percent, and choose between powerful dedicated appliances for data centers, or flexible virtual appliances for smaller and remote offices.

I would rate it around 2 or 3 because, compared to others, it tends to be higher priced.
