The pricing and setup cost as well as licensing is a bit high compared to the competition. If it were better, we could also have some pricing specific or special discounts to cater for SMBs.
Overall, our experience with Portnox pricing, setup cost, and licensing has been very positive. One of the key advantages is the cloud-native licensing model, which eliminates the need for significant upfront investments in on-premises hardware, infrastructure, and ongoing maintenance. Compared to traditional NAC solutions, this helps reduce deployment costs and simplifies budgeting. The licensing structure is relatively straightforward, making it easier to scale as our requirements evolve. From a setup perspective, implementation is faster and less resource-intensive than many legacy alternatives. Because there is no need to procure, deploy, and maintain dedicated hardware appliances, we can focus on configuration, policy design, and integration with identity and endpoint management platforms. The reduced operational overhead also contributes to a lower total cost of ownership over time. While every organization's cost considerations will differ based on the number of users, devices, and required features, we find the overall value proposition to be strong. The combination of security capabilities, ease of deployment, scalability, and reduced infrastructure requirements makes the investment worthwhile and delivers a favorable outcome compared to more traditional approaches.
Unfortunately, we do not have an idea about pricing, licensing, and everything else. The reason behind that is it's a client-provided system, so we are not aware of the setup cost and other pricing-related aspects as they have been given to us by the client.
We did not purchase it directly. We gained access through our higher authorities, so I do not have substantial knowledge about where they obtained it. As I understand it, they acquired it from Portnox cloud only.
My thoughts on the pricing are that they are usually very flexible. They work with the customer's budget. In terms of being cheap or expensive, that usually just depends on the customer. If a customer requests a discount, they are usually very open for a discussion and they are always looking towards getting to a final price that is both comfortable for the vendor and the customer.
Regarding hidden maintenance costs, I would say I have never encountered a challenge where Portnox was not able to work or where I told the customer to do any major infrastructural changes. Even before somebody buys Portnox Cloud, they have already done some prerequisite checks. I have not encountered any challenges with regards to costing related to deployment. Most of the deployments have actually been done by us as the partner with little support from the OEM. Of course, where necessary, we called upon them.
Portnox's pricing is very conservative and offers great value for money. If I compare it with any other solution, pricing is definitely at the top of the list because it is very affordable. Pricing varies depending on your relationship with them. There are no resellers or channel partners to deal with. You can directly engage with them by visiting their site, providing your email address, and they call you to work directly with you. There is no middleman or third-party cost involved. It is very transparent.

I know that IT solutions are expensive. You are charged according to the number of users. For now, the organisation can afford it, but smaller organisations may not be, so Portnox can also consider that when pricing.

I am not privy to the pricing of Portnox. However, we have a lot of flexibility with our licenses, and I was advised that the pricing is pretty great compared to other solutions.

The cost of Portnox Clear is reasonable. Portnox should get customers to reach out to Portnox Clear in the Nigerian market by offering the product at competitive prices. Portnox can also opt for the strategies used by Check Point to see its solution. If somebody wants to buy a product that is a competitor of Check Point, then the products from Check Point are made available at a competitive price, which may make the product look very cheap in terms of price, but I don't know if Portnox opts for such strategies or not. If someone who wants to buy Portnox feels that the price is an issue, then the product should be offered to such customers at a very competitive price, which is better than the ones offered by rivals or competitors.

We pay an annual license fee. In addition, we pay for professional services and local support.
Compared with other solutions, the pricing is a major pro. I would rate their pricing a five out of five. Pricing is quite reasonable.
