We set defined cost thresholds and receive alerts if the actual cost exceeds them. We use resource tagging for effective categorization and tracking of AWS resources, aligning them with specific projects for easier understanding and management. For optimal use of our elastic load balancer, we choose the right type, be it application load balancer or network load balancer, based on our application needs. We monitor and adjust elasticity and capacity to avoid unnecessary costs and implement auto-scaling to dynamically adjust the number of instances to maintain the desired application level. To control data transfer costs, especially when moving data outside of AWS, we consider using AWS Direct Connect or AWS VPN for transfers within our organization. Setting up CloudWatch alarms helps monitor key metrics and receive notifications for specific events.
Since I was part of governance and cloud cost management teams, I used AWS Cost Management for cost management. I used to see the reports and determine what is causing the cost based on the recommendation from AWS Cost Management.

We use AWS Cost Management to monitor traffic and resource usage in our environment. It helps prevent the cost by identifying activities we don’t require.
Currently, I am a Finance Consultant. My organization uses Cost Explorer and Compute Optimizer from AWS Cost Management. Our primary use case for the solution includes a review of monthly bills to ensure they are compliant with the budget that has been set. We also look for opportunities to optimize by breaking down the costs into different services, applications, teams, and projects. From here, we create dashboards for the leadership team to review.
Our organization uses AWS. I am a certified architect on AWS. Every month, we generate the cost via the internal consumption servers. Whatever we bill is replicated on the customer's side.

Our primary use case for AWS Cost Management is to manage costs. One of the financial institutes that we assisted once, incurred a 40-45 million dollar pay quarter on data center costs and moving into Azure. AWS Cost Management brought that down to $45 million for an entire year.
AWS Cost Management tools give you visibility into your AWS costs and usage. There are a range of AWS Cost Management tools to help you access, organize, understand, control, and optimize your costs.

We have all of our virtual machines on AWS, so we use the AWS Cost Management tool to track our spending. It helps us to understand our bill.
