We are a SaaS company that uses AWS for our cloud services, we are ISO 27001 certified and need to have secure access in place to protect our systems from cyber attacks and to protect our customers' data. We needed a fast, secure, and reliable service to ensure our team could work without issue and securely access our platform and code. We use GoodAccess for our business VPN solution. All of our team is remote throughout the US and need a fast reliable, secure VPN solution to connect to in order to access our systems.
The product allows for dedicated IP in a specific location. Or we can connect to our main CRM platform via a dedicated IP from the UK. GoodAccess provides both options.
Our main use case for this solution is ensuring a stable internet connection. Our applications perform best when connected to the VPN. The static VPN is vital in our security groups, allowing access by whitelisting its IP. In a broader sense, this setup boosts our operational efficiency and ensures a safer environment for our systems and data. The VPN's stability and its role in securing our network against threats are crucial within our environment, ensuring optimal performance and a secure pathway for data transmission.
We use the solution to connect to our database as part of our process. Our process requires us to use a VPN before connecting to our database. This is done primarily to have an additional layer of security while also preventing unauthorized access to our database that has sensitive information on our own company and our clients. It is also done to adhere to the ISO Policy. Another added benefit of this is that we will be able to gain access to our databases regardless of where we are as the VPN would grant us access and reroute us to the database without getting blocked.
We have multiple teams working on cloud environments, we wanted to use a service that has team-based access/permissions and static IP addresses. Working across multiple countries, we needed a VPN that would allow us to share the same public IP address and have a backup option for gateways in case the primary gateway was offline. Speed of access is critical as we work in our development environments using the VPN, developers work on code and deploy changes to our cloud environment. Access to these cloud environments must also use a VPN.
During the onset of the COVID lockdown in the UK, our organization faced a pressing need: ensuring our diverse team could work from home without any compromise on connectivity or security. Our primary use case for GoodAccess arose from this necessity. Our environment comprises a mixture of operating systems, including Mac, Windows, and Linux. Additionally, with a team that spreads across various regions in the UK, we required a solution that could offer both flexibility and reliability, allowing our employees to access our internal network and critical applications seamlessly from their remote locations.

We started using GoodAccess during COVID, when our entire workforce started working from home. They were a good price point compared to their competition and one of the only ones that allowed for a small team and use a fixed IP Address. During COVID, GoodAccess was a lifesaver for our company and without them, we simply would not have been able to work. The VPN is very simple to set up, using either the GoodAccess application or by exporting OpenVPN configuration files. Some of the new features such as threat detection and mapping connections have been amazing and very well done. All in all, it is a very good company to use when VPN access is required.
Our primary application of GoodAccess is to establish a reliable point-to-point network connection between our technical crew and the distant infrastructure. It serves as a bridge, connecting us to our cloud service provider, thus enabling seamless and secure operations with our infrastructure. Additionally, it also facilitates uninterrupted browsing via a VPN gateway embedded with threat security, which significantly boosts the protection of our technical equipment. The icing on the cake is the dual-factor access it offers to all devices, which we find to be highly effective.
We needed to find a replacement VPN for our distributed team. We use GoodAccess to simplify our network management needs. By configuring systems within the GoodAccess dashboard, we are able to simplify the deployment of new systems or changes to our current systems. We wanted to have the ability to use port forwarding which GoodAccess provides. There were several other features that we did not end up using to their fullest extent due to our needs being different, however, I am sure that the entire application is made with the highest quality and care.

For this purpose, GoodAccess provides a gateway and a connector to our cloud provider that allows us to perform all kinds of operations with our infrastructure in a simple and secure way. In addition, we use it for continuous browsing via a VPN gateway with threat security enhancing the security of all technical equipment. All this combined with dual-factor access to all equipment is very good.
