We use Google Cloud Spanner for scaling multi-regional relational data. We chose the solution for its strong scaling abilities and multi-regional use cases. The solution is designed to be able to easily scale without any limitations.
We see that Google Cloud Spanner seamlessly scales our data in an intelligent way and optimizes our database’s performance by automatically sharding database information based on request load and the amount of the data involved.
Google Bigtable and Google Cloud Spanner are the same. We can forward all the Cloud SQLs on Google Cloud Spanner, which is used for integration purposes. We use Cloud SQL with Google Cloud Spanner. If you have support for Cloud SQL, the same can be used for Google Cloud Spanner. I believe the storage will be in the Firestore or Datastore.
