We use the DS5000 for mainframe purposes. We have IBM z System and have installed SAP HANA SaaS for IBM equipment. This equipment storage holds very large data of SAP HANA.
We just use it basically for storage. We don't get into the features that it has. I use it as an employee; as an end-user customer. It is for basic usage.

Our budget at this moment is for IBM System Storage DS5000 Series, and even though I always prefer the top tools, it is not possible sometimes. We have to make all these changes in infrastructure during a very complicated period here in Argentina. IBM and Lenovo have more normal storage tools. I use the solution in my company as a storage of the virtual machine of the main system in VMware in IBM FlashSystem 5035. I am now designing another storage to manage object files and as a backup while also using it as a protection against ransomware while using the storage like a remote copy in another data center of the provider. We have Veeam Backup V12. I am trying to improve the structure with the backup strategy 3-2-1 or 3-2-1-1 so that we have a backup for quick recovery here with the DLP device, along with another backup in another storage remote and on the cloud.
There are different use cases of the solution. We use it to store and protect centralized data. We can use it to store databases and other application data. We can also use it for backups.
We are using the solution for data management. We provide virtual desktop services for the school, with management systems accounting for approximately 25% of our usage and 75% for virtual desktop stations.

We use IBM System Storage DS5000 Series for our data center infrastructure and all the servers. We use it with IBM and other vendors, including VMware. Especially VMware clusters and IBM Power machines.
Our primary use case for this solution is storage for a virtualized environment, whereby we have storage that acts as a pool of resources whereby you can create a server. The solution is deployed on-premises.

It can fit many use cases. We sell the IBM System Storage DS5000 Series to midmarket companies. However, it's a very enterprise-like product, so it covers many companies here in Denmark. Some service providers use it for on-premises daily work with CIM systems, minor ERP systems, Office, etc. We have production companies that use it as well.

It's a storage box with multiple loft space. It is connected with the fiber optic solution. We have fiber optic switches and they are directly connected with that. We also do the flash copy using that storage. For example, I will read the data backup of our current system and store it on the back. There's one wall of volume over there, which will boot when we are taking a backup and then it shut down automatically. After that, we can make a copy on a tape.
DS5000 storage systems are equally adept at supporting transactional applications such as databases and online transaction processing (OLTP), throughput-intensive applications such as high-performance computing (HPC) and rich media, and concurrent workloads for consolidation and virtualization. DS5000 series storage systems can support service level agreements (SLAs) for the most common operating systems, including Microsoft Windows, UNIX, Linux and Apple Macintosh. With drive-level...
