I was an architect and developed a BI solution, and I used the transaction feature in MicroStrategy, which lets you write to the database. We used that feature heavily.
We use it for reporting, it's enterprise-wide reporting. There are tons of different things, some scheduled by MicroStrategy. Those old-fashioned reports, PDFs, Excel, and even portfolio and task stuff. Works for many industries now, different business lines, finance, supply chain, etc.
It's useful if you need to create dashboards that you check every day. Also, we can create a queue, but it will be updated every day with scheduled updates. We use MicroStrategy as an architect to call some tasks and procedures to update data or delete data. I am the user to check data in dashboards.
We used the solution for reporting and data visualization. We used Google BigQuery to collect data and build dashboards and reports about production, manufacturing data, HR, people, positions, and headcounts. MicroStrategy was the platform where we built visualizations on dashboards, created standard reports in table format, and allowed some users to analyze the data.

When we were using it before, it was mainly for some types of reporting, primarily sales reporting. We also use it for external reporting and that went out to our customers to allow our member hospitals to view their own purchasing data, for example, who they're buying from, what vendors, what kind of pricing they're getting. Mostly its reports on things of that nature. It was and is used for both internal reporting and external member facing reporting. We moved to Tableau and we're still using it a little bit for some of our solutions.
We use MicroStrategy to create dashboards and reports for our top management. We are still not using it one hundred percent but we plan to be by next year.

I have been using MicroStrategy for the last 10 years in the health sector in private healthcare, designing reports and scorecards for healthcare and billing areas, with health indicators including monthly and annual accumulators compared to the last few years. I developed reports that were distributed daily by email to heads of departments and directors of hospitals of the company, with the information of each of them.
