I work with multiple customers using NPM to monitor the performance and the vital status of network devices, making sure to take care of network security devices by monitoring them with NPM. NPM provides real-time data on the overall CPU and health of network boxes, which is helpful when needing to check specific devices. This includes the interface traffic and vital states of the devices.
SolarWinds NPM is a tool for monitoring our network, given our extensive network infrastructure with approximately 250 sites nationwide. It provides crucial visibility into each site's health, availability, and performance status. Without this solution, effectively monitoring and managing our network infrastructure would be challenging.

We have a client who is a global logistics company, and we use NPM to manage their devices globally. These devices are network and network security devices. We take configuration backups and have predefined templates that we push. We also use NPM for reporting purposes, network configuration comparisons, firmware upgrades, and more. There are many use cases.
SolarWinds NPM is used in our organization as a monitoring tool for network devices. As a network administrator, I use this solution to monitor devices like switches, routers, interfaces, and tunnels. The tool monitors tunnel utilization, interface status, UBS, data center humidity and temperature.
My company uses SolarWinds NPM for interface monitoring because we are not required to put in any keywords and do the manual thing, making it easy to onboard. In our company, we just export the device and download the configuration, while the NCM part can be enabled by going to the settings and changing the configuration. The solution becomes easy if you use everything on a single dashboard.
Our primary use case for the solution is to monitor whether certain devices are up or down, monitor bandwidth utilization and have a network performance monitor.

Our company specializes in the development of a SaaS site. Often times, we look for solutions to complement our existing tool based on customer's needs. We recommended the solution to a customer as an infrastructure configuration and monitoring tool that combines multiple domains in a single platform. The customer also wanted issue notifications to be provided in a real-time, viewable format.
Our company uses the solution to monitor NPM for 100 large accounts that typically have 40,000 interfaces. Basic monitoring includes CPU memory, errors, and interfaces. Advanced monitoring includes F5 load balancers, in-depth tunnels, and AP alarms. We also monitor CM for backup parts and integrate monitoring with Azure.

We've been using SolarWinds for our network monitoring. It's basic advanced network monitoring, up-down of Rogers switches, as well as metrics, latency, wireless metrics, where users are, errors on interfaces, route cables, and things of that nature. We're just pulling as much data from our network devices as possible to present that in an easy pane of glass.

We use SolarWinds as a monitoring platform. It monitors all of our network gears for up-down status, for the most part. We can also see utilization being high at a given location.
One of my clients is a bank. SolarWinds is primarily used in banking to limit network downtime to less than one or two minutes. All the ATMs are connected with SolarWinds, so the bank can respond quickly when the network is down. You only need about three or four people monitoring this software at a time. SolarWinds is deployed on-premises for security reasons. Banks do not allow cloud solutions for this purpose.

SolarWinds NPM is used to monitor network components and solutions. We used it to monitor downtime and latency between applications, as well as the latency between services.
If a customer is looking for a monitoring box solution, a medium-scale customer, and he's looking for something that can manage servers, routers, storage, applications, basic monitoring for applications, to cover everything, then SolarWinds is the right choice. However, he has to be a mid-tier customer. He cannot be an enterprise customer. If they are an enterprise customer, then SolarWinds is not the right choice as it will start to slow down.
We use this solution for one of our very big customers. We are consultants and I'm the technical specialist and consultant. The company is a customer of SolarWinds.

We have been making use of the most recent version. We use it for monitoring our uplink ports on our routers and switches. We also use it to monitor our servers and we utilize its disc space and processor memory. We do the same thing for the routers and switches.
We are a reseller of SolarWinds, so that is our primary use. SolarWinds Network Bandwidth Analyzer is actually a marketing name. That is the brand name of a couple of products in a suite. The main product of the network management suite is NPM, or the Network Performance Monitor, which is qualified as a global market-leading product and has won a lot of awards in the past few years. It is the flagship for network management software. The cool thing about that product is that you can use it to also monitor your network cloud connections through the internet. That is quite a unique feature. With this NPM piece, called NetPath, users can see how their applications on the internet are behaving performance-wise. So, for example, you can see how your Office 365 use, status, and performance are doing on the internet. Our customers would otherwise not have a clue when they have performance issues without using this tool.

This solution allows me to see what we are using in terms of bandwidth on the WAN. I can use that in conjunction with Observium to figure out what endpoint on the network is pulling a lot of data, and what type of data it is. One of the problems is that I am using two different products with two different dashboards to chase down the same problem. The bandwidth analyzer alerts me to the issue of excessive bandwidth usage, but then I have to look at the second product to figure out where. I have to find out what switch, what port, and potentially what host, so it takes a little bit of investigating to really narrow down what's going on.
