Our use case is that we have small manufacturing sites that require some kind of edge technology to provide virtualization. Bigger platforms do not fit and are very expensive for these small sites. We chose StorMagic SvSAN because it is easy to implement and maintain as we do not have permanent IT staff on these sites.
We only use StorMagic SvSAN for remote functional locations that are not directly connected to our data center storage. It's deployed at production sites with their own storage and VM solutions.
The primary use case for StorMagic SvSAN is providing availability to different sites. You can have multiple sites, all of which will replicate the data to each other.
My company deployed StorMagic SvSAN for the customer because he was using it as a SAN storage for his virtual machines with virtualization or normal workloads. The customer was upgrading to a Kubernetes virtualization environment, so he needed storage to be able to do that.
