I primarily use Trend Micro ScanMail because most of our customers have email gateways that only scan traffic coming from or going to the internet. I chiefly employ ScanMail for this type of scanning. However, our clients prefer that when their internal users send emails to each other, those emails are also scanned. Moreover, if there is anything in their mailboxes, it's regularly scanned. This feature is particularly effective when internal users send emails to each other. We also conduct regular mailbox scans and always find something, such as threats detected after a virus definition is updated.
