Spirent Avalanche is a very sophisticated application and security test tool. If you are after simple application testing then the Spirent CyberFlood solution is a good option. If you want full control over web-based testing, voice calls or video streaming then Avalanche is the perfect tool for this.
Additionally, Avalanche is well suited for testing live and dynamic websites for load and performance.
The GUI could be a little easier to use but like CyberFlood shows some of the features are left out for a better simpler GUI. Additionally, a better way of working out throughput testing would be better but Spirent does provide sample performance files to make this easier for the user.
The system can test up to 100Gbps. So, there are no issues with speeds but if you want to fully use this for security testing you'll need the CyberFlood engine as well.
What are performance testing tools? Before an application can be deployed, it should ideally be tested under different operating conditions to make sure it can perform as expected. To do this, software testing professionals use performance testing tools (sometimes just called “testing tools”) to isolate and identify potential client, network, and server bottlenecks that might affect how an application will behave in production.
Some performance test products are commercial....

The solution could improve by increasing the Gbps speeds and by having better support for storage.
