Hello community,
I have a customer who has databases in the cloud and is looking for a DAM solution that supports database activity monitoring in AWS, OCI, Azure, and Google cloud service provider environments. After a POV|POC we have the below issues:
1. The proposed solution currently DOES have support for database activity monitoring in AWS, OCI, Azure, and Google cloud service provider environments using in one of two ways.
a. If the Database in the Cloud is running on Infrastructure as a Service, then an agent can be installed with the DAM gateway and MX.
b. If the Database in the Cloud is a Database as Service, then the solution utilizes DB Native auditing with the DFS Log collector.
2. It also currently has support for database activity monitoring with blocking in AWS which uses the Interceptor (similar to a Packet Sniffer) which is not dependent on database native logging.
Customer Consent:
1. No support for database activity monitoring in OCI, Azure, and Google Cloud service provider environments
2. Currently has support for database activity monitoring in AWS, however, is dependent on an Imperva Sniffer that is not dependent on database native logging.
Please let me know your thoughts.
Instana is a great product, it monitors different databases in the cloud and with Turbonomic on top you save cost and lower your sustainability footprint as well
If you have knowledge of performance, Instana will deliver great value.
Hi Isaac,
There are many DAM tools in the market. Like, for example, IBM Security Guardium, Imperva Secure Sphere, Trustwave DBProtect, McAfee DAM, etc.
I recommend you try McAfee DAM. McAfee DAM is a robust solution that supports multi-cloud and on-premises environments. It offers visibility and control over database activities across platforms such as AWS, Azure, IBM Cloud, and Google Cloud.
However, It's important to note that specific features and capabilities may vary among these tools, so I encourage you to explore each option further to find the one that best fits your requirements and preferences.
All the best.
