I am an Associate Director at a large manufacturing company.
I'm looking for a Metadata Management tool. Could you help me to get a list of Metadata Management tool requirements and an assessment of some vendors?

Hello, there are quite a few to choose from. It depends on the sources of metadata and also if you are looking to capture a single and complete view of many systems or just the metadata that runs through one. I would also consider the current systems you have and which can integrate. May I also ask about the primary goal of your organization as it relates to capturing metadata.

It depends on what you are doing and what the goals are. Alation, Collibra, and Quest's erwin are all great products but with different strategies. erwin is great for easily connecting to all sources and a more traditional and governed approach whereas Alation and Collibra are about data democracy - like Yelp. Would be happy to have a conversation - no selling :) We are focused on the government sector.
What is Metadata Management? Metadata management is the administration of metadata (data that describes other data) across your organization. The management of metadata involves establishing processes and policies to ensure that information can be best accessed, integrated, shared, maintained, and analyzed across an organization.
