Hello peers,
I am a Business Analytics Offer Manager at a large tech company.
I am currently researching data science platforms. Which solution do you prefer: Anaconda or RapidMiner? What are the pros and cons of each product?
Thank you for your help.
Pricing is a matter of open source versus proprietary. Anaconda is open source and openly publishes their pricing models. RapidMiner is proprietary and you must receive a quote depending on your use. Both have powerful libraries and different learning curves. If you and your team are already using R and Python then Anaconda will feel more at home. If you already like tools like LME, Tableau Prep, Alteryx, and Knime then RapidMiner may be more to your liking. Try this simple exercise with both to better understand the use of each. Take a couple of documents you know to have very different Sentiments and use the free versions of Anaconda and RapidMiner to analyze the words used in each. Depending on which tool you find easier to utilize and the pricing of RapidMiner does not cost-preventative then I think you will have your answer.
