Hello community,
What is IBM solidDB? Is this a relational database? Does IBM provide any NoSQL database? I'm concerning their future. I'm a mainframe engineer. Fujitsu which is one of the mainframers has decided to give up its mainframe business. I think the mainframe is too costly to continue in the Japanese market and other countries. I think it is the right decision. So, IBM is the last mainframer in the world. How do they survive in the computer business? Will they become the last emperor? As a mainframe engineer, I am very concerned and anxious.
Thank you for your input.
Your concern as a mainframe engineer is understandable, and the decision by Fujitsu to give up its mainframe business is significant, raising questions about the future of the mainframe market. However, it isn't necessarily the end of the mainframe. The mainframe is still a vital platform for many organizations and will not disappear overnight.
Here are some reasons why it is still a valuable platform:
IBM could be the last mainframer in the world, but it is a solid company with a long history in the mainframe market and has invested heavily in its development.
IBM could continue to be a significant player in the mainframe market for many years, though it may need to adapt to the market's changing needs and continue to innovate.
Here are some ways that IBM can survive in the computer business:
I hope this helps ease your worries. The mainframe is still valuable, and IBM is a strong company committed to its success.
