The intersection of Moore’s Law and Cloud software has just occurred and the result is a very green Desktop Private Cloud solution. Called “CriKit” for Cloud Resource and Infrastructure Kit, it includes compute nodes and storage that allows developers, testers and trainers to ply their trades with cloud technologies right on their desk instead of using data center resources.

We are coming out with CriKit II and specific appliances for search and Big Data in a small form factor. We were the first to market with an entirely new category and that is a hard spot to be in. It has taken nearly 3 years for the product to get any traction because of its uniqueness. The good news and bad news is that other competitors are entering the marketplace so that verifies the concept. Moore's Law can't be stopped, it can only be adopted over time. People and organizations will eventually be running their own private and hybrid clouds in a variety of form factors. CriKit is just one small form factor "appliance".
