Migrate all data from several pieces of old software to new web based software, automate integration.
My Role - Architect, Project Manager, Team Lead, Team Member, User.
Created the Plan, Designed the Models, Made all load Scripts and designed all QVD's.
Developed all required QVW's as required to massage data to the new formats and requirements.
Test exports and play with the data until it was all ready for a seamless final export and import on the day of Go Live. On weekend of migration, run Refreshes and export data as required.
Run Nprinting jobs to put files where they belong. Run automation to import. Go Live.
Besides that, create Dashboards, Reports, CSV files, etc by QVW for users to view and manage data.
The beauty here is I defined the dashboards Customer Service, Sales, etc. use, connected to the old data...when prepping for the new software, I just made copies of the QVW's and connected the load scripts to the new data base tables without having to change the dashboards at all. The transition from old to new software was a non-event for the people using the data thru the QVW's. No new training required.
Skills needed - Some SQL knowledge and the ability to Google what you need to know. Just type QlikView and what you want to do. You will find many postings. No certifications required.
I would not change a thing. This software is awesome!
