McAfee Web Protection [EOL] Reviews

McAfee Web Protection is for our entire system, regardless of the brand. It is implemented in all systems through an agent.

It is an agent-based solution, with the agent installed on all systems.

We have anywhere between 35 and 40,000 nodes.

It is functional. It has reduced risk and downtime while also ensuring regulatory compliance, which is critical.

There will be no productivity enhancement, but it will indirectly enhance because it cannot be stopped at any time. If there is a problem, we can resolve it quickly, increasing the user's and customer's confidence.

We are using version 8. It is a Hybrid deployment. McAfee uses its own cloud. We monitor everything that is going outside of the United States, and that's why we can see any communication between our users who are outside of Virginia or the United States. We use it to see the communication between our users and outside the United States. We have almost 700 users. We have different departments and all the users. As well, we include servers for this; that we can block any server trying to talk outside to any site.

One of the best things we've found is when you are at home, all the rules that we applied here in our facility or our office go to the cloud. The same rules apply to anyone who works at home. And when you're at home and you're trying to say, "Okay, I'm not in the office, I can go to this site." "No." Because the same rules that apply here, also apply there, and we block the ability to go to any site that is found on the blacklist. That's improved a lot lately because now we have almost zero PC compromise.

We use this solution for SSL encryption and web inspection. It's our first line of defense in terms of my internet accessibility as an end-user. We have used McAfee solutions for over 20 years and we are loyal customers of the company. I'm the company's senior group manager, IT enterprise.

McAfee Web Protection has been around for many years and the solution holds its ground as a product providing good accessibility and handling any overload very well. McAfee has developed new features similar to those found in other solutions; enabling seamless deployment, reducing the footprint on data centers, and making the solution more scalable, more resilient, and more reliable. 

We are working in a hybrid organization and two or three days a week we are in the office and the other days we are working at home.

We use McAfee Web Protection for security from threats.

McAfee Web Protection is a good solution and its mature security environment has helped our organization. Additionally, it has helped us by allowing the management of the same politics to protect the environment inside the organization or outside. For example, in my case, I have to travel a lot, and I know that with McAfee Web Protection, I can have the same protection if I'm inside the office or if I'm in an airport.

It's very good for web protection, which is what we use it for. It's an antivirus we can install on our devices, such as desktops or laptops. 

If you are browsing web applications, it would help detect any malware. It's very useful for security purposes. The product also protects against spyware. 

It helps protect and control communications.

The product is quite an effective firewall. 

The solution is stable.

It's my understanding the solution can scale.

The initial setup is very simple. 

I am using the LiveSafe version for the endpoint protection of my main computer, two portables, and a mobile phone. I am also using the True Key password manager that is a part of the package. It also has a feature to monitor identity theft.

When I look at the report, I see that it does the job. It notifies me if something happens with identity, email address, or telephone numbers that are still active, and I can act on it. Its identity protection had detected an old email address that I was not using anymore and reported it. Because it was an old email address that I was no longer using, there was no danger.

We use the on-prem deployment model. Our primary use case is to permit the user to go to the internet with a sufficient level of a category blocking and anti-malware control.

It's a solution that permits making a granular configuration and it is easier to deploy the same configuration on a lot of devices using the central console. It is the master of the product.

Our primary use case is to provide support to end users.

Some of the most valuable features are the USB locking on system port blocks. We are now implementing the policies by pushing the active directory policy and group policies on all the systems. The user access control on the particular systems and their antivirus upgrades are all features we have found to be of great importance.
