In our company, we installed Symantec Cloud Workload Protection for building protection and security on hybrid cloud, but it's just on a test environment, and not on a production environment. We use it for the security of the environment, including email security, but not for production purposes, because in our headquarters, what we're using is another Symantec product, or Gateway.
The most valuable features in Symantec Cloud Workload Protection are endpoint protection and active directory features. The active directory features in the product are very good, and in terms of security, the most valuable feature in Symantec Cloud Workload Protection is threat defense or threat protection.
One area for improvement in Symantec Cloud Workload Protection is integration. Other features that could be improved are defense control and encryption, particularly in the USB. For example, users should be able to control the USB and have the capability of blocking and allowing USB reading and writing. Having a USB encryption feature in Symantec Cloud Workload Protection would also be very useful.
An additional feature I'd like to see in the next release of Symantec Cloud Workload Protection is more advanced defense on mobile devices such as iOS and Android. For example, even offline or with no internet connection, it would be good if the solution could defend devices against malware and ransomware.
We've been distributing Symantec Cloud Workload Protection for four years, and we're currently distributing the latest version.
Symantec Cloud Workload Protection is a stable solution and it offers very good protection for organizations.
As Symantec Cloud Workload Protection is a cloud solution, it's very scalable. The user doesn't have to maintain his environment as much, and won't need to think about the hardware. At the moment, I don't have any issues with my customers in terms of the scalability of this solution. Scalability is very good in a cloud solution such as Symantec Cloud Workload Protection.
Technical support for Symantec Cloud Workload Protection is very good.
The installation for Symantec Cloud Workload Protection is very easy, but sometimes, I have difficulty deploying for some users from endpoint to endpoint.
The licensing cost for Symantec Cloud Workload Protection is paid yearly, but I'm unable to give the actual number or actual cost.
My company has a partnership with Symantec and is a distributor of Symantec Cloud Workload Protection.
I'm not doing any maintenance on the solution because it's cloud-based, so usually end-users open tickets directly with the support team or with technical consultants who are in charge of handling the issues. Right now, it's very good, for example, last month had good maintenance compared to other months. Years ago, the maintenance schedule you get from Symantec, from Broadcom, was very bad. You don't get much detail and it was very complicated. Currently, there are not many complaints from the users because Symantec can now better handle the maintenance and sort out problems about Symantec Cloud Workload Protection.
I don't have a lot of advice for people looking into implementing the solution, because it's very easy to use. It's not a complex solution. Just from the default policy, it's already good. A user can go with the default policy, and there's no complicated issue that would arise from implementing Symantec Cloud Workload Protection. Maybe in other cases, when the configurations need more detail, those could result in complex implementations.
I'm rating Symantec Cloud Workload Protection eight out of ten.
