Strong technical support and effective toolset improve workflow but setup process requires refinement
I have experience with Nintex and K2, but I do not have experience with Unqork. I am specialized in Microsoft products such as Power Automate and Power Apps. I have knowledge of Microsoft Intune and Defender, along with certain Azure components. I work for an organization as a presales architect, proposing solutions to customers. I am familiar with Microsoft Defender for Identity, for Business, and for IoT, though I haven't worked extensively on that. I have a conceptually good understanding of it. I'm mostly working on Microsoft collaboration tools, which include SharePoint and Power Platform tools. I have been dealing mostly with Microsoft, but also with other vendors. Regarding database services, we typically use SQL server services. We have not used Amazon RDS; typically, we use PostgreSQL or MySQL. On the Azure side, I work with Azure Database services including PostgreSQL, MySQL, and SQL Cosmos. I was previously working as an architect for U3Soft and am currently working with Birlasoft (B I R L A S O F T). My overall rating for Amazon API Gateway is 8 out of 10.

Authentication mechanism is easy to implement but improvement is needed in documentation
For API security purposes, we use the tool to host all our APIs. This allows us to take advantage of the security features provided by the platform. With the solution, we can implement rules such as rate limiting and restricting the number of API calls for each user. It acts as a secure gateway…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"t is easy for integrations if it is deployed in AWS Services."
"In terms of scalability, I haven't encountered any issues with API Gateway. We've significantly increased our traffic from hitting it once or twice a minute to now hitting it ten to fifteen times within a minute. In an hour, we're receiving hundreds of hits. So, it's performing excellently."
"In terms of most valuable features, it would say that it is really easy to start working with it."
"The best features of Amazon API Gateway include security and metering, which involves the analytical part of how the APIs are being consumed since it's for consumer APIs built for use by other applications."
"It is a stable solution."
"The solution is solid, robust, and scalable."
"One of the most valuable aspects of API Gateway is its native integration with AWS services."
"All information and data needs to be sanitized before it enters a private domain and we use this solution to do this."
"The tool's authentication mechanism is easy to implement. We had to define a few parameters."
"It allowed us to publish and replace pre-essential transactions in one place, with a uniformity in terms of control and policies."
"Good interface, intuitive solution."

Cons

"I believe that there could be more features associated with analytics since it is an area where the product lacks."
"The integration could be improved."
"It would be useful to have a more complete development environment for the developer, with different integrative capabilities to manage all the life cycles for the API. I think the full version formula for that is really useful. They should improve the development environment for easier integration."
"When using APIs, the manual bit for intermediate confirmation with VTL can be a challenge."
"Amazon API Gateway will wait for only 30 seconds to get a response from other services, such as the Lambda function."
"The tool's UI requires time to understand."
"I'd appreciate improvements in the user interface to make it more understandable, especially for new AWS users."
"If I take into consideration the past three to four years, during which I used the tool, I would say that some missing and external configurations were not possible in the product, and it was a bit difficult to manage."
"The product has new features that we are going to implement in the next few months, such as API management and analytic reporting."
"Lacks an integrated billing feature."
"Akana API Management needs to improve its documentation."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The product is a little expensive."
"This is a pay-per-use service, where you only pay for what you use."
"We use all open-source technology."
"I am satisfied with the price."
"It's cost-effective, even as our workload and the number of APIs we manage have increased."
"It is somewhat costly, particularly when it introduces server-related features, which are often scheduled on our end."
"I rate the tool's price as seven on a scale of one to ten, where one means low price and ten means high price."
"The product can be described as a medium-priced solution, but its cost is higher than Azure."
"For us, the pricing and licensing policies were for an on-premise installation with a fixed cost structure, that matched our budgeting policies."
