In 10 minutes, I can do work that would take me two or three hours in another solution.
We use Monarch for account reconciliation. We have several accounts from last year that carry over into this year, so we do reconciliation to see if there are any outliers compared to last year and if the system is automatically picking up for renewals. Monarch is used for minor reconciliation work…

Has a good UI and drag-and-drop features which makes it easy to understand
There have been some issues with licensing, particularly with the increased prices. This has led some companies, including ours, to consider reducing the number of licenses or potentially discontinuing their use of Alteryx. Since most of our team members work with Alteryx, deploying workflows to clients who may not have licenses became a hurdle. Every user needed a license to run the workflows, which could pose difficulties, especially for clients who only needed occasional access for small data analyses. Unlike other software like Microsoft Power BI, which offers free trials or user licenses for basic functionality, Alteryx doesn't provide such options, potentially limiting its accessibility for occasional users. It should improve scalability.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Monarch lets you quickly extract in your preferred format."
"The solution has excellent drag and drop functionality. There's no need for coding."
"Alteryx helps me do a lot of automation. The best thing about Alteryx is that you don't have to repeat the workflow over and over again. Unlike Excel, where you need to write formulas for each new file, Alteryx follows a consistent process. You can schedule and automate the workflow, even if the files change."
"Shortens the time required to start analyzing data and looking for insights, minimizing the tasks that do not add value to the business and maximizing the analysis phase."
"The support is very good."
"The cloud deployment ensures it scales easily."
"The most valuable feature of Alteryx is the intelligence suite."
"Alteryx's connectivity is essential. We like the ability to connect the solution to multiple sources. It's easier than other data modeling and extraction solutions. It's built on a self-service concept, so it's easy for anyone to open the tool and directly import or export data from it."
"The product's initial setup phase is simple and straightforward."

Cons

"I rate Altair Monarch seven out of 10 for affordability. Recently, the pricing model changed from end-user licensing to a concurrent licensing model."
"The solution can be made more affordable."
"Sometimes workflows tend to queue up, and they tend to get canceled for some reason that we don't know sometimes."
"The screen when you are looking into your workflows and your ETL processes needs to be improved. You cannot manage it very well."
"Its most valuable feature lies in its functionality."
"Alteryx's development environment could be improved as it requires installation locally and can't be developed in the cloud."
"Deep learning models are not currently supported."
"Even when it already includes some AI models, this area could be improved."
"It would be nice if they can provide Alteryx with more options for In-DB connectivity. That functionality is there, but it doesn't include all software we are connecting."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"The pricing is $5000 per year per production license."
"The solution has a more costly license than other tools in the market."
"I rate the solution's pricing as a ten, as it is highly priced."
"In order to have designers, and, if you want to collaborate, you have to buy a server. If the designer is $5,000, and if you want a server, you have to pay $80,000."
"It has a good price."
"We use the free version of the solution. There are enterprise licenses available. It cost approximately $5,000 annually. It is an expensive solution and there are additional features that cost more money."
"It's very expensive. I'd rate it a four out of ten in terms of the price. It's great for big companies but not for small companies."
"Opt for the three year subscription. It is 20% less than the yearly one."
