Automated complex ETL workflows have reduced coding effort and improved data integration
One area for improvement is in integrating mostly the data which comes from telemetry, where I can see some sort of improvisations can be made. It is a massive amount of unstructured data, and I believe Alteryx is able to handle it, but there can be some improvements. Suggestions for improvements in Alteryx include areas for increasing efficiency, particularly in processing telemetry data, which involves dealing with large volumes of unstructured data. Additionally, I believe when we use filter tools immediately after the input source, there can be slowdowns when handling massive data. The user experience of Alteryx is generally good, but there are areas for improvement from a user's perspective, particularly regarding user interface enhancements. I think there's always room for improvement, but otherwise, Alteryx has been a great tool for me. We haven't experienced significant disruptions while increasing data volumes, though I sense there could be performance issues as data grows exponentially. This is an area that could use improvement in Alteryx.

Good management and pricing but not great for enterprise environments
In a high-density location, we're running into connectivity drops. There may be too many rouge devices broadcasting, and the devices is getting interference from another channel. The only to fix this is to reboot and we need something that reboots on the fly. We also need better security for VLANs and VPNs. There are issues with certain Apple devices. Technical support is not very helpful. The initial setup, which seemed straightforward at first, had to be redone. This may not have been the fault of the product. We're not sure what went wrong.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"I would recommend the solution 100%. I really think it is a better platform than competitors."
"The most valuable feature of Alteryx is user-friendliness."
"Automation is the most valuable aspect for us. The ability to wrap business logic around the data is very helpful."
"The most valuable feature of Alteryx is its stand-alone version that we do not have to download dependencies for loads. Additionally, the scan is useful for beginners."
"My primary focus is creating numerous data pulls, and Alteryx Server handles the automation well."
"Workflows and a large number of tools were a quick QA methodology and rapid prototype creation tool."
"The solution offers excellent predicting power. The accuracy and confidence have been great."
"The ease-of-use allows non-technical business users to directly create their own solutions without the use of additional development resources."
"It's easy to manage and supports the user, our guests, and our customers if they have a problem."
"The controller makes it easy to control everything from one platform. The management is easy."

Cons

"When a process completes there is a notification, but the notification does not include the process's name."
"From a commercial standpoint, more options should be available for pricing. The licensing model needs to be specific."
"The next feature release should include easier reporting."
"Mastering Alteryx, a comprehensive solution, takes time. However, once you have gained proficiency with its layout and how to drag, drop, and connect components, it becomes remarkably easy, yet still thorough."
"There could be a bit of improvement related to performance. Sometimes it demands a lot of resources for running it, like memory and search."
"Configuration is very low and is not good for the customer end."
"In my opinion, Alteryx does have a zone to do predictive analytics, but it is very limited, so they could focus more on that."
"In terms of data extraction, during the sequel queries of servers as an example, you can structure your sequel query and it's fine, very readable, but once you run it, it crashes into one complex single line, and makes it very difficult."
"It's stable, but it depends on the office and location."
"There are issues with certain Apple devices."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"There are some implementation services and internal effort costs at the beginning but there is nothing else."
"Alteryx isn't extortionately expensive, but it's not cheap either."
"The license price of the solution is expensive."
"ROI is huge. There are some secondary benefits, like analysts getting their post 5 PM time back or the ability to shorten all closing processes to a half or less."
"A designer and scheduler for $13K/year in total is pretty much earning you the money back in time and in other resources."
"The license is really expensive, we cannot afford to have two or three. It takes away all the budget of my area."
"Alteryx is an expensive solution."
"It's very expensive. I'd rate it a four out of ten in terms of the price. It's great for big companies but not for small companies."
"There is no license. The solution is free."
