Automates processes efficiently with cost-effective scaling and robust customer support
Web scraping is quite good since it offers a lot of possibilities. Another important feature for me is its compatibility with MBI, the Power that is ISEQUADO Centers. I appreciate the ability to scale and increase the number of bots or studios without additional expense. Automate's non-reliance on additional orchestrators makes it quite cost-effective.

An RPA tool to automate functions, tasks, and processes that also allows users to do coding from the scratch
The initial setup of AutomationEdge was satisfactory for our company. For deployment for a large process, it will take around two months to develop the process. Else, it can be done in fifteen days. My organization gets to automate the banking processes using the solution. There are different requirements for different departments. Finance departments need something to automate their processes, and the requirements may vary for the information management department. There is a different type of automation requirement if there are some secretive documents that we have to keep on triggering mail.

Automation streamlines onboarding and reduces the load on customer service agents
As the head of the division, I do not use UiPath myself. However, I am the decision-maker, so I review the features. The combination of both full-attended and half-attended automation, where you can automate tasks and still interact when required, is very useful. It provides efficiency by freeing staff from unnecessary tasks, resulting in a balanced workload and more productive use of an employee's time. The tool has a noticeable ROI, and the investment is worth every penny as it reduces tedious tasks and improves scalability. It is very easy to use. During the COVID lockdown, my son who was 11 at the time attended a UiPath and Automation Anywhere training with me. He has already automated his school tasks requiring saving data and uploading some documents to the portal. If a kid can do this, it shows how easy it is.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The ability to connect to websites and pull data is the solution's most valuable feature."
"I would rate the technical support as a nine out of ten because it is quite fast and courteous."
"Compared to other vendors, it's the scheduling tool because a lot of vendors want to charge you extra for their enterprise-level license to have a scheduling tool built in to give you the ability to set up regular schedules to run and do certain data checks."
"We use it for specific cases, mainly secure file transfers, which are vital for us. And it works for us."
"We are still in the process of rolling it to production and tweaking it (our AD groups are a mess), but the improvements are priceless. Having users ID's created the same way every time without human error is the best part. We don't need to worry about why groups were not added, user rights not set to folders or missing a private folder being created, typos or just even knowing when things are done and logged."
"The most valuable feature is the drag-and-drop interface, which is very Windows-like."
"The product effectively handles all the tasks we require."
"The most valuable features of Fortra's Automate include its FTP functionality and file manipulation capabilities."
"The product's most valuable feature is the executor."
"The chatbot that they have is most valuable. It is one of the best features because they own it, and they don't need to integrate with other parties to have a chatbot. This is one of the main features. The rest of the features are common to all RPA tools or vendors available in the market."
"The initial setup was easy and straightforward."
"It helps us with cost optimization and easy implementation."
"The studio design is fine compared to other similar products. There is nothing extraordinary about it, but at the same time, there are not any negatives."
"Stability-wise, I rate the solution a nine out of ten...I rate the technical support of the solution a nine out of ten."
"The support from the vendor is very good."
"If we want to change your processes, we can code it from scratch, making it a beneficial feature of the product."
"We use UiPath for web scraping. We extract data from websites, store them in boxes, and analyze them later."
"The UI interface and the back-end platform are very easy to use."
"UiPath has improved the ease of building automations. We were using SeleniumBase testing which is a legacy application and required a lot of manual work to maintain it."
"UiPath has a very good user interface, and the automation is a great feature. New users can easily understand UiPath."
"One of the features that I find most valuable is the Apps feature. We can easily create an app, or a web app, that can connect to the robots that we created with UiPath. It is just a drag-and-drop functionality, and we can implement an app with minimal code. Once we have the app ready, we can easily and quickly share it with other stakeholders so that they start using it. The apps are also pretty professional to be used at an enterprise level. That's the main feature I love in UiPath."
"We did not have to do a lot of customization because the standard UiPath activities fit our needs."
"UiPath has improved our organization; the primary difference introduced by the application of the UiPath tool is the speed of processing and accuracy in the data processing."
"It's helped us minimize our on-premises footprint."

Cons

"I would like the updates to be easier to deploy. Integration with Amazon S3 is somewhat lacking."
"I would like the updates to be easier to deploy. Integration with Amazon S3 is somewhat lacking."
"Fortra's Automate is not as reliable as I would like it to be."
"The technical support could be better. We suffer from language barriers, as we are in Argentina."
"The intelligent automation feature could be improved. It's interesting because it's simple, but the automation quality isn't always good. It's easy to use, but sometimes you need to make a slight improvement to the automation, and that's not so easy."
"We really need a free development environment for customers. Building and testing automation on production isn't ideal."
"I currently have three bugs open with them that I don't know if they are addressed in the new release."
"There is a lack of good development for artificial intelligence, such as machine learning."
"There are some shortcomings in the product's stability that need improvement."
"The ease of use is the main thing on which they really have to focus. If they want to go against the giants, it should be improved in ease of use, and it should be more user-friendly. It would be helpful because everyone should be empowered irrespective of whether they know how to code or not. They should enhance its user interface and make it more intuitive."
"With other automation solutions in the market, we can simulate the process in our notebooks where the solution creates the code for us, but with AutomationEdge we can't do this."
"The installation process could improve. It was difficult to complete."
"In the future, they should have a similar version for the cloud and on-premises, and the installation should be flawless within few minutes."
"The price of the solution could be improved."
"They could provide more technologies for IT and security to enhance machine learning capabilities."
"It's not an intuitive tool."
"The documentation related to new releases needs improvement."
"The only problem is the cost. It was more accessible initially, and we could have more resources with the same license. Now, the license is different, and we need a license for each tool that we have, so it is not very accessible to have all of the tools for installation."
"There is some scope for improvement, especially in the area of variables. Some variables are used in specific workflows and some variables are global. It would help if there was a repository that would showcase which variable is global and which is local to a workflow."
"There were a couple of times with the on-premises version that there were complications, since it is not on UiPath's cloud. We have had a lot of complications where we are dead in water. There were a couple of conditions where we weren't able to get someone up to speed on whatever. The support is not as quick to respond as we had hoped."
"UiPath could have more robust, built-in auditing and logging. Currently, you need to build log messages into your automation to capture what's happening."
"I would suggest that they improve the UiPath Connect Enterprise because the planning stage is the most crucial in the RPA life cycle."
"We have been looking at Attended Robots, which result in the inability to lock your screen. That is simply a no-go for ever using them in most government agencies, as IT security will prohibit us from using them. If UiPath wants Attended Robots to be used inside a government agency, it needs to be applicable on a virtual desktop."
"UiPath could be more intuitive in how it formats strings, variables, or databases. This can sometimes be difficult, even for someone with a computer science background. Additionally, some tasks require a team effort as one person can get overwhelmed or discouraged."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The pricing is quite reasonable. We can run the process with one bot. The limitation is at the server level because they have some resources, and sometimes that is enough. It isn't too expensive, so you can get a good return off of one, and you can also have a pack of five bots that is quite competitive."
"I like the way this solution is priced because you can buy a license, or you can buy the software outright."
"It comes with a package that costs approximately $20,000 USD per year."
"From a distributor's perspective, one of the biggest selling points of Automate is its price point."
"I'm only involved in running the product and maintaining the systems, so I can't speak to the cost."
"While solutions like UiPath and Blue Prism cost around $11,000-$12,000 for each license, this product costs around $7,000 and you can keep it forever."
"From a distributor's side, one of the biggest selling points is its price point. Without going into any numbers, compared to UiPath, Automation Anywhere, and Blue Prism, we're significantly cheaper. The main difference is that other competitors usually charge you per process. However, in Automate's case, it's priced per bot. So, a bot can run multiple processes at the same time, but you are only priced for a single bot."
"The cost is a bit high for a small business like ours, but we manage with Fortra's Automate."
"If you are looking for a budget solution, you can consider AE. It has all the features. Scaling it is way easier because of the cost itself."
"Pricing can be made better. Currently, I think the pricing is based on the market. The pricing also depends on the business partners that offer you the solution."
"The product is available at the lowest price."
"Price-wise, AutomationEdge is pretty affordable, making it not so expensive when you compare this with other tools in the market."
"I give the price of the solution a nine out of ten."
"It is expensive but its value can justify the cost."
"The licensing for this solution should have a more competitive pricing model. The price is in the top five of similar products."
"The pricing is good. They offer a Community edition that we currently use, which is free. Their paid pricing is pretty affordable for businesses as well."
"The licensing makes sense, but it does lead to a few adoption issues when a lot of the licenses are per user. Convincing some of our business units to pay for user licenses for either Action Center or attended robots can be a roadblock."
"For our first customer, we started with Orchestrator, an unattended bot, and a couple of Studio licenses, all of which cost $25,000 USD for the year. It is definitely worth the money."
"We license the use of the product on a yearly basis. The licensing we bought costs $7000 in 2019 for what we have in production. That is the cost of the license plus Studio."
"I find its pricing to be okay, but it also depends on the size of the company. Small users and individual users might not be able to exhaust all the features of the platform, but SMEs and large organizations are able to use the platform in a broad manner. They are able to enjoy many more benefits. UiPath needs to come up with a pricing and licensing model that favors small users and individual users."
"The investment is relatively small compared to the potential in qualitative and quantitative benefits that can be achieved."
"I think the setup cost is quite nominal, but the licensing might be on a higher side when compared to Automation Anywhere."
"We license the product on a yearly basis and it costs us around $80,000."
