Has a single dashboard, but is expensive
We use this solution to manage our mission environment The single dashboard is a valuable feature.  The technical support needs improvement. The initial setup is straightforward. The solution is expensive. I rate the pricing an eight out of ten.  Overall, I rate the solution a seven out of…

You are able to drill down into a center's utilization, then create reports based on it
In the last year or two, we have been working with our Cisco NAS engineers to improve our security posturing. It is more our being proactive rather than reactive. While Stealthwatch and Lancope have this ability to look inside and give you visibility (a great feature), follow-up is the rule. We would like filters that you can put into place to tap onto certain types of behaviors, alerts out, and/or hopefully a block. This is sort of what we are looking for. I might be speaking too early, because we are not down this path yet. We know the feature set is there, we just do not know yet how to achieve it. That is proactive rather than more reactive. For Lancope Stealthwatch, we would like to see it more on the ASA Firewall platform. While this might already be available, this is more a failing of Cisco to inform us if it is there. For example: * Are we on the right or wrong version of the code? * What does the code look like? * Are we are really looking at firewalls? Or is it more about the foundation and route switches that we are seeing? It is about visibility.

Provides seamless automation functionality and has a straightforward setup process
We use the product to enhance threat detection and response. We utilize it as part of a broader security ecosystem to monitor and block potential cyber threats. Our environment includes multiple financial clients and has tailored rules for specific needs, such as anti-fraud measures. The solution…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The single dashboard is a valuable feature."
"We can manage the entire system across the network and troubleshoot the pain points."
"The feature most valuable for us is to gain visibility of what is actually floating through, so we can stop it based on whether it's good or bad traffic."
"From a security standpoint, it is just seeing pockets as well. Visibility is very key for us."
"Stability is the most valuable feature we have seen in this solution."
"Provides easily identifiable anomalies that you can't see with signature detections."
"The most valuable features provided by this solution are visibility and information."
"Ease of deployment, once you get your ducks in a row."
"It has improved our internal knowledge of what's going on with the network, and that's helpful."
"Using this solution has helped us to detect and identify viruses or malicious activity in the network early on."
"The threat intelligence from WildFire supports our proactive defense strategies."
"The solution is completely integrated with all the other Palo Alto products. I think that it is the best part for endpoint protection. The firewall features include URL and DNS filtering, threat protection, and antivirus."
"The most valuable features of Palo Alto Networks WildFire are the good URL and file analysis that uses artificial intelligence. It has different interfaces, such as rest, SMTP protocol, and HTTPS. The Security incidents and event management are very good. Additionally, there are many file types that are supported and there is no limit to the number of files it can handle simultaneously. It integrates well with SIEM solutions."
"It is the best device in comparison to other network products in the marketplace."
"It gives a more accurate assessment of a virus in terms of whether it's truly a virus, malware, or a false positive. We have some legacy software that could pop up as being something that is malware. WildFire goes through and inspects it, and then it comes back and lets us know if it's a false positive. Usually, when it finds out that it's not a virus, it lets us know that it's benign, and it can exclude it from that scan, which means I don't even have to worry about that one popping up anymore."
"It catches modified signatures of known viruses."
"The most valuable feature of Palo Alto Networks WildFire is its ability to adapt to environments and its robustness."
"Detailed reporting on analysis of content. The inspections are easily applied to security policy profiles and profile groups, and may be assigned on a per-rule basis."

Cons

"The Wi-Fi side needs improvement."
"The technical support needs improvement."
"There's a lot of traffic on our network that we don't see sometimes."
"Many of these tools require extensive on-premises hardware to run."
"I would like to see better filters."
"Better integration between Cisco Secure Network Analytics and Cisco Secure Workload would be beneficial."
"At my company, we might not be using it enough with other applications that we have that can integrate with it."
"I would like the search page available with Cisco Stealthwatch to be more intuitive. The previous release was better than the current one for the UI."
"Reliance on Java. Get away from that."
"The version with the Dell server had iDRAC problems. Often, it reported iDRAC failure."
"Our main concern is that everything has to be synced with the WildFire Cloud and has to be checked through the subscription."
"The system performance degrades after the solution has been deployed for some time. The data that it gives us becomes a little bit slow. When you try to get some data for troubleshooting, it seems like it's working hard to extract that data."
"Palo Alto Networks WildFire should be more real-time in nature. The signature updates should happen in a minute or less than a minute to be a very good feature for the customer."
"Improving detection on non-Windows formats would be beneficial as there are many samples, such as Linux or ransomware for macOS."
"The technical support response needs improvement."
"It would be nice if there was an easier way to install and deploy it, such as through the inclusion of wizards."
"The only complaint that we receive from our customers is in regards to the price."
"The cyber security visibility and forensics features to receive more information about incidents could improve in Palo Alto Networks WildFire."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The solution is expensive."
"NetFlow is very expensive."
"Pricing is much higher compared to other solutions."
"We pay for support costs on a yearly basis."
"It is worth the cost."
"One of the things which bugs me about Lancope is the licensing. We understand how licensing works. Our problem is when we bought and purchased most of these Lancope devices, we did so with our sister company. Somewhere within the purchase and distribution, licensing got mixed up. That is all on Cisco, and it is their responsibility. They allotted some of our sister company's equipment to us, and some of our equipment to them. To date, they have never been able to fix it."
"Licensing is done by flows per second, not including outside>in traffic."
"The tool is not cheaply priced."
"Licensing is done by flows per second, not including outside (in traffic)."
"The pricing is OK, it is not too expensive."
"The physical appliance is around €3,000 or €4,000, and then, you have the licensing for a year for around €3,000."
"We pay between $3,000 and $4,000 CAD ($2,200 - $3,000 USD) per year to maintain this solution."
"I think they should lower the price of this solution"
"Palo Alto Networks WildFire is a product with a high price."
"The solution is worth its price"
"It's comparable to what the competition is. It is probably a little lesser than what the competition is because, as a state government, we go for whatever the lowest cost is."
"There are different types of licenses."
