Streamlines our processes and makes everything more efficient and less prone to errors
While CodeTwo Backup for Office 365 is generally great, there is some room for improvement in integrating with Office 365's restore options. Additionally, there is room to improve in managing email signatures. If it could make handling email signatures simpler or offer more features, that would be a plus. An additional feature that could be valuable is a search functionality within Office 365 tenants for specific mailboxes or logs related to events like receiving certain emails or bounce occurrences.

Reliable rollback features for smooth IT operations and an easy setup
We are using Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 to take backups of shop floor PCs. I use it for clients locally, particularly for critical machines. It is also used globally for server-side backups and includes scheduling features like taking ten backups every Sunday when the factory is closed. This…

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The tool's porting of targeted sources in CSV was a nice feature. The integration and connection between the tenants were smooth. We could access a template CSV as well."
"The solution offers ease of configuration. With a wizard, you run through the setup, and everything is configured correctly. Additionally, creating a job is very easy, and overall, the ease of access is excellent. Also, it allows you to use the backups to migrate to another Office 365 environment."
"The most valuable feature of CodeTwo Backup for Office 365 is its restore functionality."
"Once you set it up, it works very well. You do not have to go back to reconfigure it– it is very easy to use"
"I find Veeam's customer service and support to be excellent, rating them ten out of ten."
"One of the valuable features is the ability to restore a specific email. For example, if a user has deleted an email and they would like that particular email back we are able to restore it."
"It has got all the features. You can restore a mailbox based on an email or a calendar or based on all the emails. A user can also get access to restore the mailbox."
"The solution is stable."
"The most critical feature of Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 is its ability to back up and protect data on cloud services."
"The solution is also easy to manage and work with."
"The solution is easy to use and stable and can be made to fit one's needs."

Cons

"I attempted to modify the XML files in the product's configuration to enhance the speed and efficiency of the process. While the KBs and documentation were well-written, technical aspects related to speed adjustment parameters were unclear."
"There are two major improvements. First, the UI seems outdated. Second, the tool should support cloud backups. I suggest using Windows Server 2016 or 2019."
"There is room to improve in managing email signatures."
"Veeam is quite expensive."
"They need to enable the encryption of backups so that nobody can gain access unless they have encryption details."
"It's hard to predict the usage on the storage. I need to make some estimates for customers in terms of how much storage will be needed on the cloud, and this is always tricky. It would be helpful if they could help us estimate storage or simplify the estimation portion."
"If you use a device to back up with compression and duplication, the solution doesn't work."
"The solution needs to improve its speed."
"I'm very satisfied with Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 and would continue using it if it were up to me. However, my management is considering alternative solutions due to issues with our storage solutions."
"We have found that there is a limitation in this solution where it only takes the backup of users who are using Office 365 Enterprise email IDs. We have many users in management and approximately 50 other users who are using Office 365 of which Veeam is able to capture the backup. However, for the other users who are on the local email server at that time, the solution is not able to capture the backup."
"If it could rebuild the data without pulling down the entire chunk, it would be an improvement."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The tool's pricing was reasonable. I don't remember the amount per mailbox, but the cost seemed fair, considering we had around 300 mailboxes to migrate and needed to do it in a rush over a weekend. We didn't have many choices for people to operate the migration."
"The cost is a bit on the high side."
"Its cost is pretty high. I would rate it a three out of five in terms of pricing."
"The solution is not expensive."
"We decided on Altaro because, from the point of view of the total cost, Altaro looks cheaper than Veeam. Veeam has a lot of costs that are not clear when you start it, which makes it less flexible than Altaro, but only after half a year, you can be really sure that you made a good decision."
"The cost of Veeam Backup for Office 365 is $19 for one mailbox."
"Veaam Backup is licensed per mailbox, which customers like because it's per user and so they don't have to pay for shared mailboxes."
"It is not the cheapest solution in the market."
"We have 2000 users and pay about $10,000. It may be a little bit more per year. We have an education institute and may have fewer expenses."
