Tells us about vulnerabilities as well as their impact and helps to focus on real issues
Looking at all the different pieces, it has got everything we need. Some of the pieces we do not even use. For example, we do not have Kubernetes Security. We are not running any K8 clusters, so it is good for us. Overall, we find the solution to be fantastic. There can be additional education components. This may not be truly fair to them because of what the product is going for, but it would be great to see additional education for compliance. It is not a criticism of the tool per se, but anything to help non-development resources understand some of the complexities of the cloud is always appreciated. Any additional educational resources are always helpful for security teams, especially those without a development background.

Boosts security by automatically blocking applications or activities, but query responses have been slower recently
For the past six months, we have been facing some issues. Because it is a cloud-based infrastructure, it has been getting slower. There are no bugs because they release updates continuously. We highly appreciate that, but during hunting or running a query on different logs, the time frame has increased in the past six months. It takes longer to give us the results. Another issue is the lack of proper documentation. During investigations, there is no proper documentation available. This is a problem because many people are saying there should be proper documentation explaining what CrowdStrike captures from the machine and the meaning of it.

It gives you one console to see all of your assets, review their configurations, and build your processes
Most customers use Prisma Cloud for visibility and compliance. Prisma has so many features, but many organizations do not use them. They primarily use the visibility part to connect all their cloud accounts and hosts for visibility to see if they are missing any security controls or if they have any misconfigurations. You can connect it to cloud environments such as Azure, AWS, Oracle Cloud, Alibaba, etc., or to an on-prem data center. Prisma Cloud gives you so many options to automate processes related to your daily operations. When it comes to cybersecurity, you can automate things with their existing APIs. They also have out-of-the-box integrations with many solutions. I have not seen any limitations. Everything is customizable. You can do whatever you want, defining the reporting and custom use cases. They recently updated the UI, so it's much better than before.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"SentinelOne Singularity Cloud Security is excellent, and I highly recommend it."
"It's positively affected the communication between cloud security, application developers, and AppSec teams."
"The key strength of Singularity Cloud Security lies in its ability to pinpoint vulnerabilities in our cloud accounts and identify suspicious activity that warrants further investigation."
"SentinelOne stands out with its responsiveness to feature requests for Singularity Cloud Security."
"Cloud Security has provided a single view to observe all workloads, prioritization for handling cloud assets, and reduced noise by distinguishing false positives effectively."
"We like SentinelOne Singularity Cloud Security's vulnerability assessment and management features, and its vulnerability databases."
"The dashboard gives me an overview of all the things happening in the product, making it one of the tool's best features."
"Cloud Native Security is a tool that has good monitoring features."
"The RTR feature stands out as particularly valuable to me due to its capability to log into machines."
"Falcon is a cloud-based technology, so its resource usage is light. You deploy the agents to your endpoints, but the processing is done on the cloud, so you're CPU utilization is only about 2 percent. Some others solutions use between 30 to 60 percent."
"Cloud security posture management (CSPM) is most valuable."
"It's easy to gather insights and conduct analysis about existing threats."
"The initial setup is easy ."
"The immediate mitigation of potential threats and instant alerts are valuable."
"The most valuable features of CrowdStrike Falcon Cloud Security are Cloud Security Posture Management and Cloud Workload Protection, offering more visibility and protection across our cloud environment."
"The threat intelligence is the most vital feature"
"Prisma Cloud stands out as a user-friendly and powerful CSPM solution thanks to its comprehensive capabilities, built-in features, and flexible tagging system."
"The client wasn't using all of the features, but the one that stood out was infrastructure-as-code (IaC). I built IaC use cases and was trying to get them to use it. I also liked cloud workload protection. I worked with the vulnerability management team to develop a process. It's a manual process, so it can be challenging to remediate many image or container issues. It was nice that we could build out a reporting process and download the reports. The reports are solid."
"Palo Alto enables us to know what security threats are happening in the background."
"The Cloud Workload Protection module is a very strong solution. I like the Cloud Workload Protection part. It is something I have not used for the banking client, but I had a chance to try it out for roughly a month on actual deployment of another customer. That part was really robust. Cloud Workload Protection would be the main feature that I enjoy the most."
"The most valuable feature is the closed VPN connection, which provides better performance than traditional VPN boxes. For example, let's say a user in New York State normally connects in the East, but if they travel to the UK, they can connect to the same portal, which automatically redirects to any VPN gateway. We can control traffic based on Active Directory groups instead of the user's IP. That means a user in New York can access his application based on his user ID and AD group access when he travels to the UK or anywhere else."
"The threat detection feature in Prisma Cloud by Palo Alto Networks integrates with cloud-native controls like AWS GuardDuty and similar services on Azure and GCP."
"I would rate Prisma Cloud a ten out of ten."
"The product provides very good network security."

Cons

"The documentation could be better."
"Some of the navigation and some aspects of the portal may be a little bit confusing."
"When you find a vulnerability and resolve it, the same issue will not occur again. I want SentinelOne Singularity Cloud Security to block the same vulnerability from appearing again. I want something like a playbook where the steps that we take to resolve an issue are repeated when that issue happens again."
"The could improve their mean time to detect."
"SentinelOne Singularity Cloud Security can be improved by developing a comprehensive set of features that allow for automated workflows."
"The areas with room for improvement include the cost, which is higher compared to other security platforms. The dashboard can also be laggy."
"I'd like to see better onboarding documentation."
"Their search feature could be better."
"I think the UI could be improved, but the technical support said CrowdStrike will improve the UI in the near future. But right now, it’s so messy."
"The main area for improvement is pricing, as it is quite expensive."
"The CrowdStrike dashboard currently lacks a username field."
"The tool is expensive."
"It gets the work done, but the main problem with the solution is that if you remediate anything, it takes 45 days for you to get any of the features displayed on the dashboard. This is the real weakness of CrowdStrike. Their customer support is also not ready to help with it. If you remediate any cloud vulnerability that they are giving you, such as removing a host from your organization, it takes around 45 days for them to remove it from their console."
"The SIEM needs to be more developed."
"It would be more convenient if there was an easier way to install CrowdStrike, perhaps through better integration with Active Directory."
"There are no bugs because they release updates continuously. We highly appreciate that, but during hunting or running a query on different logs, the time frame has increased in the past six months. It takes longer to give us the results."
"There are hundreds of built-in policies for AWS and Azure, but GCP and Oracle are not covered as much as AWS. There is a lot of work to do on that part. There is, obviously, a tiny bit of favoritism towards AWS because it has the most market share."
"The UI could be improved."
"We would like it to have more features from the risk and compliance perspectives."
"I believe there are some issues with the product's maturity. In some cases, it could malfunction concerning Cloud Native."
"Prisma Cloud supports generating CSV files, but I would also like it to generate PDF files for reporting."
"They need to improve the API gateway."
"Prisma Cloud's application security capabilities should be enhanced."
"It does not provide runtime security or protection for Windows Server. It is currently lacking in terms of Windows environment."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It is a little expensive. I would rate it a four out of ten for pricing."
"The tool is cost-effective."
"The pricing is somewhat high compared to other market tools."
"Pricing is based on modules, which was ideal for us."
"SentinelOne Singularity Cloud Security is costly."
"The licensing is easy to understand and implement, with some flexibility to accommodate dynamic environments."
"Singularity Cloud Security by SentinelOne is cost-efficient."
"Its pricing is okay. It is in line with what other providers were providing. It is not cheap. It is not expensive."
"CrowdStrike Falcon Cloud Security is pricy."
"The price is not too high, it is okay."
"The pricing is fair for what you get. I'd rate them a solid nine out of ten in terms of pricing."
"I am not the one who handled the pricing. A different team worked on it, but it is pretty expensive."
"CrowdStrike Falcon Cloud Security is very expensive for us. Last month, we had a big issue that took much time and money to resolve. It slowed down our business and required our management team to get involved. We had a problem similar to the "Blue Screen of Death" issue many US companies faced. This incident used up many of our IT resources in just a few months. That's why we're looking for a replacement tool now."
"It's an expensive product"
"It's an expensive package but does what it says it will do."
"CrowdStrike Falcon is very expensive."
"The pricing is competitive; for the most part, the security firms have similar prices."
"One thing we're very pleased about is how the licensing model for Prisma is based on work resources. You buy a certain amount of work resources and then, as they enable new capabilities within Prisma, it just takes those work resource units and applies them to new features. This enables us to test and use the new features without having to go back and ask for and procure a whole new product, which could require going through weeks, and maybe months, of a procurement process."
"Prisma Cloud Enterprise is a costly solution. You need a license for all the components. At the same time, you have everything under one roof, so I think it's still justified."
"Its price is reasonable as compared to other products. The main challenge is explaining the licensing model to customers. It isn't a problem related to Palo Alto. Commonly, people don't understand cloud licensing or security licensing. When they have fixed virtual machines, they know what they are going to be charged, but when it comes to cloud automation, it is hard for them to get clarity in case of high workloads or when they have enabled auto-scaling, etc. It would be helpful if Palo Alto can educate people on their licensing programs."
"Prisma Cloud is a high-end enterprise solution, making it quite expensive."
"Prisma Cloud licensing works on credits."
"The purchasing process was easy and quick. It is a very economical solution."
"The price is high. In the future, when there are more competitors at the same level with different clouds, maybe the position will be different."
