Handles workloads and diverse applications efficiently
We have a lot of VMs on Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers. On a single server, we have probably hosted 14 or 15 VMs. Out of these, 8 to 10 are continuously running, and four of them are backup VMs, so it can handle a good workload. For cybersecurity, it is only accessible on the intranet; it is not accessible through the web. We use it for local development purposes, and it is behind our firewall. Its security is strong. We handle a lot of test data for government and confidential customers. It is safe and strong locally. We have not experienced any security issues. Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers have helped to reduce unplanned production downtime if we need to replace a hard disk, instead of completely shutting a server, there is a hot swap feature. It is quite good in that aspect. Usually, for any activity, there is a downtime of about 30 minutes. It has saved a lot of time. We have tried AI workloads for a development environment for a government customer in Singapore. The servers are hosted in Singapore. It is an ML-based engine with AI. It is a government project where data is processed, and we run it on Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers. The benefit of running AI workloads on PowerEdge Servers is that it is easy to allocate memory. The application we are running is memory intensive. It is pretty easy to scale memory and storage.

We use the solution for our browser router.  We haven't faced any issues with the tool's integration.  Juniper MX Series Universal Routing Platforms should incorporate gen AI features. I have been working with the product for five years. I rate Juniper MX Series Universal Routing Platforms'…

"The solutions accelerated GPUs helped to support demanding workloads and to reduce data processing time in our organization."
"The product is highly scalable."
"The main benefit of the Juniper MX Series Universal Routing Platforms is their stability."
"We haven't faced any issues with the tool's integration."
"This solution is easy to manage and the resiliency of the hardware is excellent."

"The most valuable Juniper MX Series Universal Routing Platform is its ability to do routing in any way that I need. It's more than capable of handling the load I'm currently sending."

Cons

"We have experienced some challenges with iDRAC when upgrading firmware."
"The ways Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers could improve relate more to the educational aspects of how customers can continue to leverage technology, which presents challenges."
"A feature that would enhance Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers is the ability to get multiple servers up and running quickly versus having to do one at a time."
"We use PowerEdge servers in conjunction with VMware, a VCF Rack, and VxRail. That has worked out well. We are using it for firmware upgrades and other similar tasks. It's a one-stop shop, but it could be better when the servers aren't on a VCF stack. Profile handling and upgrading standalone servers could improve, but they have gotten better over the years."
"Dell can optimize the size of its rack servers, offering a minimized physical footprint without compromising performance or security."
"In the future, I would mainly like to see improvements in the speed of response of storage, as we aim to enhance our performance with non-rotating disks."
"When trying to quote devices and servers for our Mexico City offices directly with Dell instead of through a partner, we encountered some challenges. It took several months to negotiate appropriate pricing, requiring escalation to the director of Dell Mexico and communication with Dell US."
"My biggest grievance is related to getting a caddy. We have decommissioned our old servers that we used for development or testing. You cannot buy hard drives for old servers from Dell. It is very annoying."
"Juniper MX Series Universal Routing Platforms should improve by being more agile with new technology that sits on top of the router."
"The main disadvantage is the price when compared to MikroTik, which is much cheaper but less stable."
"It needs to be more multifunctional for enterprises."
"I want support to improve in terms of quality."
"Juniper MX Series Universal Routing Platforms could improve by having a graphical interface. A lot of the younger generation tend to be used to graphical interfaces, command line tends to scare them."
"Juniper MX Series Universal Routing Platforms should incorporate gen AI features."
"The product licensing process needs improvement."
"Although the support for this solution is good, there is still room for improvement."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"I personally think the pricing and licensing of Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers is actually fairly decent, though the way the business runs leads to sticker shock anytime we give them a quote."
"If price isn't a concern, I would recommend it."
"The price is good for the quality of the Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers."
"We weren't paying very much, but it was at the end of the lifecycle. We are now using the VxRail hyper-converged infrastructure, and the pricing was very similar for the same amount of power but with easier automation."
"One of the clients has been offered a price of $18,000 instead of the regular price of around $25,000."
"The pricing is good compared to other products."
"The overall pricing and licensing are fair according to the market."
"Dell is somewhat more expensive than HPE."
"The tool's pricing is in the middle."
"The price of Juniper MX Series Universal Routing Platforms is reasonable. We are on a perpetual license. I do not have any maintenance service as part of the license."
