Provides flexibility for remote work and offers good performance
My company has a product servicing team of 12 people, consisting of network engineers who call themselves network support, and the other teams in my company refer to them as the setup servicing team. Though not all of them manage Google, some of them do it when required. In terms of the manageability benefits offered by the product to my company's team, I would say that there was not much of a learning curve involved when we migrated from Microsoft to Google around two years ago, and it was pretty easy to integrate. I have not utilized Google Chrome's flexibility for remote work. The solution has some good points in terms of scalability and ease of use. However, my company doesn't like the UX component of the product, and it is also one of the reasons why we miss Microsoft Teams. I can recommend the product to others after considering their needs. If a user has more money to invest, they should choose Microsoft. I rate the tool an eight out of ten.

Easy installation and the initial setup time is reasonable
Stability can be an issue. I have to restart it every two days. And the boot time is quite long. My laptop's old, has no SSD, and is just a traditional Winchester. Had desktops with Windows 11 and SSDs, much better performance. But hardware limitations on my current laptop lead to stability and response issues. It's more like the whole reinstall every two years thing. It makes cleaning a pain. Performance improves significantly after a fresh install, then slowly deteriorates as I add more programs. But my biggest concern with Windows 10 is actually bigger than my situation. I'm replacing my laptop anyway, but I read that Windows 10 support ends in a year or so. And with hardware limitations, many other computers won't run Windows 11. So it's not just me. A lot of people with decent, still-working Windows 10 machines will lose support and be unable to switch to 11. This will be a significant problem for individuals and institutions. Large companies with thousands of computers don't replace them every three years, and they might face issues with many computers unable to run Windows 11 and lacking support for 10.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Google Sheets and Google Docs are the most valuable features of the solution."
"We use the product to run applications and devices."
"Chrome Enterprise is really easy to deploy and manage."
"This solution is user-friendly with security features detecting if there is suspicious activity on the browser. There is a lot of extensions we can use to provide us with good coverage."
"The solution's most valuable feature is its browser, which offers good performance."
"Chrome functions as a comprehensive solution due to its continuous self-evaluation and improvement. The evolution process has been significant, with a notable distance covered from its inception to the present. Notably, features like VPN support have been incorporated over time, enhancing the platform's capabilities. A distinctive feature is that users don't even need to know the Wi-Fi password; upon signing into the machine, internet connectivity is established immediately. Furthermore, the cloud storage system ensures data isn't stored locally, making it seamless for users to switch between machines. In summary, Google Chrome Enterprise is an excellent solution, particularly when there's a shortage of available manpower."
"Google Chrome Enterprise is a stable solution with good performance."
"Stability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten."
"The product's initial setup phase is a ten out of ten, where ten means that it needs an easy setup process."
"I like how Windows 10 is quite stable."
"Windows 10 Professional or Enterprise is a very robust operating system for the client side."
"I think the settings are better. It has a better user experience."
"This solution is easy to use. I am satisfied with the solution."
"Windows 10 is a user-friendly solution that has good stability and performance."
"The GUI has been enhanced and it supports the 365 suite."
"My impression is that the security via windows defender is good enough that I no longer feel a need for another third-party security solution."

Cons

"The solution's interface is an area with certain shortcomings that need improvement."
"The solution could be made cheaper."
"The performance could be faster."
"Setting up anything resembling a shared inbox is still kind of a giant pain in the solution."
"Identifying areas for improvement can be challenging since Chrome consistently strives to enhance itself. One aspect I'd like to highlight is virtualization. For instance, if you require desktop-based applications like Cisco or Adobe products on your local machine, Chrome's support is limited. While they offer Linux solutions for virtualization, my query or request would be to expand this to include Windows-based applications. If this were implemented, it would be a valuable enhancement, encouraging broader adoption by companies."
"Chromebooks are hard to find in the Indonesian market."
"Additional data security and data privacy features could be proactively recommended by Google."
"You still need to have a pretty good understanding of GCP to deploy it properly."
"Sometimes it doesn't work, and it constantly needs fixing in terms of upgrades, patches, etc."
"There is a lot of preloaded information on Windows 10, that impacts the memory position."
"It would be better if there were more integration with Linux and Azure."
"The solution could improve by having better security."
"The tool's expensive part is an area where improvements are required."
"They should introduce some special tools for system administrators. I am currently looking at how to calculate the storage. It should have additional tools for monitoring for system administrators. A lot of such monitoring and security tools are available for free in other open-source operating systems, such as CentOS. It should have the backup-and-restore functionality, which is integrated with any external device, such as a USB device. Windows 10 should also be free. They should only charge for Professional Windows 10, but the basic OS should be free. Microsoft should support the Red Hat operating system. When I install Red Hat, it doesn't support NTFS. It needs some additional plug-ins."
"Windows Updating System needs improvement."
"It would be nice to see more robust security features in the next release."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The product price is very good in my opinion."
"Pricing varies significantly based on different regions and specific requirements. The cost can differ for the Euro price as opposed to the Asia-specific price. Generally, the standard pricing falls within the range of twenty-five to thirty dollars per license. This payment can be structured on a monthly or yearly basis. Opting for the yearly payment plan often comes with an added discount, either directly from Google or through negotiations with your vendor."
"Google Chrome Enterprise is a medium-priced solution."
"We are on a monthly subscription for this solution."
"So all I can say is just for us since we just recently re-upped our three-year contract for Google Education Enterprise, whatever the name is for their highest level enterprise...I found the pricing to be pretty reasonable overall."
"Yearly payments are to be made towards the licensing costs of Google Chrome Enterprise. It is not an expensive solution. I rate the solution's pricing model a six out of ten. There is a need to pay an extra cost in addition to the solution's standard licensing fees."
"We need to pay for the licensing through Microsoft partner. We benefit from an education license in the Philippines, which provides us with a better deal compared to Windows licenses for retail stores."
"Windows 10 was pre-installed when I bought my laptop, so I haven't had to deal with any licensing costs."
"Windows 10 is expensive."
"The price is fine."
"I think it is fair. I haven't bought it on my own because our laptops are from the company, and our company pays for it."
"Windows 10 is licensed. It was included with the purchase of my laptop."
"I have a home license that costs me around 1,000 rupees."
"I paid for a license, but there's no monthly fee."
