Good security with useful backup and recovery capablities
The security is very effective. It provides us with a single cloud-based console to manage all our backup and recovery operations. It's easy to use for me. I've used some other clouds and found them hard to understand or to manage things. This platform makes it easy to do so many things all from one place. I like the built-in security features, encryption, and data backup capabilities. The product never gives me an error. It runs smoothly, and I've never had a delay in the backup recovery. It has affected the time we spend managing our backup infrastructure. We've saved a little time. We use the deduplication capabilities. It's helped us reduce the cost of long-term data retention. It's good compared to other solutions we've used. The security and speed of the system are quite helpful to us. The solution does provide automatic updates.

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It's easy to use for me."
"The always-on deduplication and compression features have helped to reduce the cost of long-term data retention."
"The most valuable feature is that I can back up the whole machine and then restore it relatively fast."
"It is a flexible, simple, and scalable software-based solution. It has agentless functionality with specific hypervisors and agent-based functionality with specific operating systems. It gives you the flexibility to use your own hardware and back up physical Windows, Linux, IBM AIX, and Oracle Solaris systems as well as VMware VMs, Hyper-V VMs, and Nutanix VMs from one console. It also has integration with major applications that most companies are using, such as Active Directory, SQL, Exchange, or SharePoint. It has integrations, not just for the backup on the image, host layer, or hypervisor, but also for performing an application-consistent backup. It is helpful in backing up to the tape, cloud, DR site, etc. It is really flexible. It is really amazing that you can restore any backup on VMware, Azure, or AWS. As compared to the other solutions in the market. Veeam has really integrated a lot in the past years. It has the best performance and perfect replication."
"All features of Veeam Data Platform, such as backup, immutability, and replication, are highly valuable."
"The most valuable features of the solution are its ease of deployment, its many interesting functions, and its good performance for both backup and restoration."
"When it comes to service cases, I would choose Veeam Data Platform over Commvault because restoring from Commvault can be time-consuming due to filtering tasks. Veeam Data Platform, on the other hand, offers a much simpler and faster restore process."
"All features of Veeam Data Platform, such as backup, immutability, and replication, are highly valuable."
"The most valuable feature is the ease of use."
"For me, the most important feature is alerting."

Cons

"If you need to recover an environment and you have suffered from ransomware, it's difficult to start again with the backup and recovery service."
"The dashboard should be updated."
"It's not that easy to use from the management side."
"I don't see much room for improvement except that the price could be better."
"One challenge that we have encountered was on the long-term retention of data. Be sure to look into a dedicated deduplication appliance."
"The web interface could be more visual."
"There's a situation where VMs run on different locks. It's running on the VM while having a relationship with nearby solutions running on the same server and storage. This creates a bottleneck that needs to be eliminated."
"The solution is rather weak when it comes to database integration."
"The endpoint protection console is not centralized."
"think backing up from physical servers and ransomware security needs some improvements."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"The product must improve its pricing."
"The product is not that expensive."
"We have increased our scalability while being able to free up senior resources from recovery activities. I estimate our overall savings to about $20,000 per year."
"The pricing and licensing is better than the competitors, but it could be better."
"The price is pretty cheap for our market."
"If you have Veeam Backup and Replication with the essential license then this solution is free. If you were to purchase Veeam ONE by itself it is priced cheaper than competitors."
"The changes in pricing have been an interesting aspect. It seems to have become pricier, resulting in a reduction in affordability. There are extra expenses involved, including hardware requirements and the procurement of operating system licenses, which must also be taken into account. I would rate the price seven out of ten."
"I would rate the product's pricing an eight out of ten. The licensing costs are yearly."
