HPE GreenLake for Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) target workload was delivering virtualized applications and desktops to end users via Microsoft Remote Desktop Session Hosting. Compute and storage performance benchmarks were captured that were used to ascertain recommended user densities for various end-user types. Hewlett Packard Enterprise offers a Reference Architecture using Microsoft Remote Desktop Services (RDS) to deliver virtualized applications and virtual desktops from HPE ProLiant DL360 Gen9 servers with NVMe SSDs, by leveraging Microsoft best-inclass technologies: Windows Server 2016, Hyper-V, and Storage Spaces Direct (S2D).
