Straightforward interface and user-friendly
There are a lot of apps in K2, but what I really found that needs improvement is the management section of K2, especially the management server and the admin page where you can manage processes, add users, set security fees, and add licenses. The reason for this is because the part that is the section of administration, particularly the management called rows, has multiple rules, as many as you want. For instance, you may have around 200 rules, and when you view them, only the first ten are displayed, and you have to click next to see the next ten and so on until you get to the hundredth rule. On that page, as of today, we only have what we call to fetch, where you can search for a particular rule you're looking for, or else you have to keep clicking until you get to the final page you want. So that's a bit challenging.

Good for automatically triggering workflows, but needs to be more customizable

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The SharePoint feature is a really good connection, there are many features that are good."
"The setup is easy."
"The capacity to integrate with external platforms. It's great to be able to call web services or other external services."
"Valuable features include workflows (escalation, reminder, LazyApproval, actions, etc.) and ease of use."
"Allows us to provide desktop/laptop and mobile solutions to our users."
"It leverages the out-of-the-box SharePoint back-end. This means that you don’t need to install or deploy additional infrastructure to support Nintex Workflow, unlike some of its competitors."
"The solution helped us automate several processes we used to do manually."
"Easily maintained and customization is quite simple."
"We use it a lot for creating workflows to transfer materials between plants, which is a signature part of what we do."

Cons

"The security features for this solution need to be improved."
"There is room for improvement in the user experience in the forms."
"User interface could use some improvement. Perhaps integration with Visual Studio or SharePoint Designer would be useful."
"There have been some glitches, and the workflow fails frequently."
"I would also like to see the BPM features from Pega implemented, that have to do with the implementation of AI, and the robotics."
"The solution needs more RPA and AI features."
"The Workflow Designer needs improvement."
"We would like to design parallel workflows and long-running workflows, along with new features for connecting to cloud-based systems."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Our maintenance costs are reduced."
"Certainly. Notably, in terms of cost, this solution presents a substantial advantage, being approximately forty percent more economical compared to Oracle. It offers flexibility with two deployment options, catering to both cloud and on-premises preferences. Moreover, within each deployment option, there are two variations available. For organizations with limited IT resources and relying on citizen developers—individuals from the business side comfortable with technology—the platform allows for a more hands-on approach. These users can independently implement solutions without extensive coding or custom development. In contrast, the KQ solution at Symantec is adept at addressing the needs of sectors like banking, where extensive custom development is required for seamless integration with existing applications, websites, and ensuring robust security measures."
"Nintex products are expensive, but valuable. Licensing in on-premise was historically based on a perpetual model, where you’d license per Web front-end. However, they are switching exclusively to a consumption (subscription) model, where you purchase the number of workflows you think you’ll use in your environment, and can scale up from there."
"There is an initial fee when purchasing and a fee for maintenance afterward."
"This solution is affordable and is cheaper than most alternatives on the market. We have a standard cloud license that costs about 20k per year."
"Comparatively, it's expensive."
"The initial investment in K2 is heavy. Currently, the expenditure is $28,000 for a year. After we go to the cloud, it is going to be per seat and probably cheaper. Currently, there are unlimited users."
"The product’s price is competitive compared to other vendors."
