Transparent with good reliability and good data visibility
The initial setup had a medium level of difficulty. If we go through the documentation, we can learn about what to do. In Palantir, they had a section called Academy, and that Academy was quite useful. If you go through that as a new user, it makes the process easier as you learn what to do. Initially, we didn't have many sources that would help us learn things, so we struggled a bit. In contrast, with Azure and Amazon Cloud, you have many sources from where you would be easily able to learn. You could just Google what you needed with them, as there's so much available documentation online. What was easy was the fact that everything was in one place. With AWS Cloud, there are many applications to support. You can use Glue or Athena, and you have all these other applications. However, with Palantir, everything is easy due to the fact that it is centralized. It's drag and drop and everything is very transparent.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"I like the data onboarding to Palantir Foundry and ETL creation."
"The solution offers very good end-to-end capabilities."
"The solution provides an end-to-end integrated tech stack that takes care of all utility/infrastructure topics for you."
"The data lineage is great."
"The security is also excellent. It's highly granular, so the admins have a high degree of control, and there are many levels of security. That worked well. You won't have an EDC unless you put everything onto the platform because it is its own isolated thing."
"Palantir Foundry is a robust platform that has really strong plugin connectors and provides features for real-time integration."
"The virtualization tool is useful."
"Live video sessions enhance the available documentation and allow you to ask questions directly."
"This product provides good reports using a single pane of glass."
"What I like best about this solution is that it is built into the SAP line, making it easier to integrate with other SAP products."
"Data consistency is also a notable feature; the system takes care of data consistency, so you don't need to handle it manually."
"SAP Analytics Hub offers a user-friendly interface with effortless configuration, seamless updates, and real-time availability of information. It avoids the complexities associated with batch processing, providing a smooth and efficient experience."
"For report scheduling, I always prefer SAP because it has the most powerful scheduling features, like sending reports to more than 1,000 customers per day. That option is not as good in Microsoft BI and in Tableau it only exists as an add-on option."
"The platform's main benefit is its integration with SAP ERP data. It’s effective for data integration and integrity."

Cons

"If you want to create new models on specific data sets, computing that is quite costly."
"Cost of this solution is quite high."
"The solution could use more online documentation for new users."
"The data lineage was challenging. It's hard to track data from the sources as it moves through stages. Informatica EDC can easily capture and report it because it talks to the metadata. This is generated across those various staging points."
"The frontend capabilities of Palantir Foundry could be improved."
"Compared to other hyperscalers, Palantir Foundry is complex and not so user-intuitive."
"The workflow could be improved."
"It would be helpful to build applications based on Azure functions or web apps in Palantir Foundry."
"The platform could easily integrate with other ERP data solutions. Additionally, it should be faster compared to competitors in the cloud space."
"Pricing and support are integrated into the system. However, the support process can be challenging, particularly when navigating the SAP support site, which lacks user-friendliness and ease of access."
"The interface can be simplified because it is not a user-friendly experience."
"The technical support for Analytics Hub is limited and could be improved."
"The analytics part of SAP has not been that good up until now. They're still in the infant stage and development is still going on. SAP has some cloud analytics and they're trying to configure it in Lumira, but it's not that good at this point."
"Faster implementation of new functions for the new product is an area of improvement in SAP Analytics Hub."
