Has enabled me to integrate AI workflows and drive self-service analytics across organizations
There's room for improvement in their focus on enterprise clients. As a small business owner, there's nothing as powerful as Domo available for smaller organizations. I understand it's a business focus for them as they're looking to expand in that direction, but there's an opportunity to capture the SMB market by creating more capabilities. It's not necessarily about technical capabilities, but rather pricing that's geared towards the small business market. Capability-wise, it's very robust. If I had to stretch, I would suggest more integrations to other common tools, such as Zapier and operational tools like Mailchimp, where you can build and extend ETL in a no-code environment. While there are capabilities you can build from Domo's open APIs, having more native integrations in a no-code, low-code environment would be beneficial. Domo has many native integrations, but better tools for the SMB operational pipeline would be valuable.

A low-code/no-code platform with a user-friendly UI
We couldn't implement or use some of the latest functionalities, like Spark. Palantir Foundry is scalable, but it is costly compared to other cloud providers. The solution is more suitable for small and medium businesses. It might be difficult for large enterprises. I rate the solution’s scalability a seven out of ten.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"I mostly see it as an ETL which has many system connectors. It does a good job of ETL."
"The best thing is that the data storage is pretty much free. I can store as much data as I want, from different sources."
"In general, Domo is very powerful and very easy to use, relatively speaking."
"The data certification feature, where the admin user can put a certified stamp on a data source so that other users can know that that is the correct and accurate data flow or data source to use, is a good feature."
"The one thing that stands out in case of Domo is that you have everything under the same tool; you don't have to log in into any particular cloud services to have access to that platform as it's just a web-hosted platform and everything related to data engineering, data science, ETL, everything comes under the same umbrella."
"The ability to create custom connectors was useful because you never know, with customers, what platform they want to utilize or what data they have. It gave us a lot of flexibility in being able to bring data in from different places."
"When it comes to Domo, we have one platform for data integration as well as for data modeling, transformations, and creating visualizations such as charts, graphs, and cards, which is beneficial because in Power BI we have multiple modules for these functions."
"The dashboard is the most valuable feature and allows for customization to create and share reports."
"The solution provides an end-to-end integrated tech stack that takes care of all utility/infrastructure topics for you."
"It is easy to map out a workflow and run trigger-based scripts without having to deploy to another server."
"The virtualization tool is useful."
"Palantir Foundry is a robust platform that has really strong plugin connectors and provides features for real-time integration."
"I rate Palantir Foundry a ten out of ten."
"It's scalable."
"Live video sessions enhance the available documentation and allow you to ask questions directly."
"The solution offers very good end-to-end capabilities."

Cons

"Their organization or client service didn't always keep up... They took on more and more clients and the processes slowed down a little bit."
"I would like to see more dashboard creation options."
"Domo is losing out in the pricing area. We tried pitching Domo to many of our clients, and they liked it initially, but the pricing point was something they were not comfortable with."
"If we have unwanted data in our data set as raw data, we need to cleanse and structure it first because having excessive data in Domo will increase loading time and occupy large amounts of space."
"They could use more charts. They have had a very limited number of charts we can use. I believe, now, there are somewhere around 30 of them, but they could definitely use some more options."
"If your ETL runs more than 24 hours, it always fails because we are logging a lot of historical data, and there is a restriction on the amount of data (in rows) that you can run. The technical support has not found a solution for this yet."
"If we have unwanted data in our data set as raw data, we need to cleanse and structure it first because having excessive data in Domo will increase loading time and occupy large amounts of space."
"The pricing of Domo is too high. Six months ago, Domo increased their prices. We suffered because we could not maintain the old data in the old data set in Domo."
"There is not a wide user base for the solution's online documentation so it is sometimes difficult to find answers."
"It requires a lot of manual work and is very time-consuming to get to a functional point."
"It would be helpful to build applications based on Azure functions or web apps in Palantir Foundry."
"If you want to create new models on specific data sets, computing that is quite costly."
"The startup pricing is high, causing concern despite being cost-effective in terms of total cost of ownership."
"Difficult to receive data from external sources."
"Compared to other hyperscalers, Palantir Foundry is complex and not so user-intuitive."
"The workflow could be improved."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It started out at about $600 a seat. However, then as we started to grow, it scaled that down to about $330 or 3$50 a seat, if I'm not mistaken."
"The price that they offered was around $200 per user license. It was pretty cheap at that time compared to other companies. I think they have revamped their pricing structure since then."
"Domo has more than one licensing model. You can choose between the yearly subscription and the per-user licensing model. The tool is flexible in terms of licensing. As for the cost, Domo is an end-to-end BI tool so its pricing is a little higher than other players in the market, for example, non end-to-end BI tools such as OBIEE and Tableau specific only for business intelligence and presenting data to the end users, unlike Domo which handles everything. You want to get Domo as an integration tool, an ETL tool, etc. As the tool is end-to-end, its cost is always going to be a little higher than other BI tools, but it's worth paying because you won't have to spend extra for other activities. After all, Domo can do those activities."
"We are making money from Domo, and all our clients are happy with the information that they receive from it."
"The pricing differs from customer to customer, depending on the package."
"I believe that the investment in Domo was worthwhile because it allowed for the organization to jump in quickly, with little training. There are different plans available based on the requirements."
"The solution is expensive compared to one of its competitors."
"No matter if you're a developer or an end-user, the licensing cost is around $12 per user per month."
"The solution’s pricing is high."
"Palantir Foundry has different pricing models that can be negotiated."
"It's expensive."
"Palantir Foundry is an expensive solution."
