What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I find the HCL Domino server scalable.

In my company, we have 20 people using the solution and our customers have approximately 20,000. We do not plan to increase usage but our customers will increase their usage.

How are customer service and support?

The support is very good.

We have 10 people for the implementation of the solution.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

We pay annually for the use of this solution and it is only a standard fee.

What is our primary use case?

HCL Domino is integrated with HCL Notes Client and its main use is for administration and file management. We have a specific application for notaries in Belgium.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable feature of HCL Domino is how robust it is.

What needs improvement?

HCL Domino could improve by having integration with other solutions, such as Microsoft 365.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using HCL Domino for approximately 30 years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The solution is highly stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

HCL Domino has a high level of scalability.

We have approximately 200 users using this solution.

How are customer service and support?

The technical support has been good when we contacted them.

How was the initial setup?

The installation is straightforward and it took approximately 15 minutes.

What about the implementation team?

We have a team of two engineers that do the maintenance of the solution.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Customers have to pay for a license for the Notes Client, not for the Domino database. There is a quarter license that we use.

What other advice do I have?

I would recommend HCL Domino to others.

I rate HCL Domino a seven out of ten.

This is an enterprise email solution.

What is most valuable?

The version that we are currently using offers many features that were are not using. Rather, we use the basic features.

They offer good support and provide a roadmap.

What needs improvement?

The UI was an area that needed some improvement, and that has been improved with the newest version, but we haven't migrated to it yet.

When you compare with Microsoft Exchange, the UI could be more user-friendly.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using HCL Domino since 2012.

We are using version 9.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

This solution is very stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

It's easy to scale.

How are customer service and technical support?

HCL technical support is very good.

The price is reasonable compared to the other solutions.

What other advice do I have?

I would recommend this solution with tier support.

When we started with IMB in the latter part of the journey, there were some issues with the support. With HCL, we receive good support.

I have not used the newest version yet and don't know what is being offered or what has changed.

I would rate HCL Domino an eight out of ten.

After a few years, you may find that you are paying more than the purchase cost, without much functionality added.

What needs improvement?

The ROI does not justify its price.

IBM should rethink the AMC subscription.

I have not encountered any deployment issues, only that there are not many upgrade features.

Customer Service:

Customer service is 4/10.

Technical support is 5/10.

We previously used Messenger and Outlook, which were much better than this.

I do not have any experience with initial setup.

It was implemented by a support partner.

What was our ROI?

The ROI is not justifiable.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

IBM charges heavy for a yearly subscription and AMC cost increase year-on-year is not a fixed percentage of AMC, due to which, after 2-4 years, you may find that you are paying more than the purchase cost, without much functionality added. The ROI not justifiable. IBM Lotus is good but there is other, better software available with much better pricing, and value-added functionality and features. IBM should rethink the AMC subscription, which is huge compared to the competitors.

Before choosing this product, we did not evaluate other options.

IBM should rethink the AMC subscription.
