The right sizing and resource balancing.

When spinning up new servers we use vendor best practices and hardware sizing documents.  Turbonomic lets us see real usage and resource requirements.

I would still like to see more canned reports for historical data.

Deployment is easy.

Turbonomic is stable the only piece is the discovery could still be better.

Customer service has always been great with Turbonomic.

The initial setup is really easy and just point and click.

Right sizing our environment saves us money by not having to purchase additional hardware.

Obviously, automation has been the most valuable feature - it's what initially attracted us and likely our main reason for purchase. However, its reporting and planning features are also very useful and contribute greatly to ROI.

Not having to regularly monitor our VM environments' resources has been a definite improvement over our previous time-intensive and often reactive processes.

Built-in, context-sensitive 'Help' would be useful at times, instead of having to search through the User Guide or Community for assistance - or just for those times when you're curious about the function of a particular option/feature.

We've had Turbonomic deployed for about 7 months now - plus the initial trial period.

Deployment was very straightforward. Transition from trial to fully licensed was just as simple.

Turbonomic has been very stable. Honestly, forget it's even running... until we need to look at a report or have growth/expansion plans for our environment.

Scalability has not been an issue. In fact, we included some additional socket licenses in our initial acquisition as we anticipated adding additional physical hosts to our environment.

Their customer service is top notch - quick to respond and very helpful. Plus, with the Green Circle Community there is the added bonus of a support group (of sorts).

I cannot speak to their technical support, as we've really not had any issues, and initial implementation was a breeze.

Other than manually monitoring and manipulating resources, DRS (which really doesn't even compare) is the closest "solution" we previously used.

Reasons for switching? Real automation, forecasting, and reporting.

As previously stated, setup was very straightforward: Deploy VM, configure connections and targets, and Automate!

We worked directly with Turbonomic - although it was called VMTurbo at the time. Obviously, their expertise was second to none.

ROI can sometimes be quite subjective. However, with Turbonomic it’s genuinely evident from the get-go. First, the automation working toward maximum
optimization, efficiency, and uptime. Second, the capacity and future planning capabilities offer the ability to generate the "what-if" scenarios using your own current environment as the model to build on.

Their per-socket perpetual licensing works very well for us. Pricing was aggressive, as compared to other options we had.

• Control of workloads to assure performance and deliver service levels.
• Enforcement of compliance policies across a hybrid cloud.

We have the best practices recommendations to optimize our virtual machine (VM) environment.

• The arithmetic of optimizing the resources of VMs based on the workload.
• Some of workload are by a monthly basis. Need to consider the month-end or quarterly-end workload.

Veeam MP for VMware with SCOM 2012 R2.

We are still using this solution as our major monitoring system.

It is a performance-based application that provides automatic planning on every type of infrastructure, i.e., the on-premise or cloud.

When you have a congestion in your infrastructure, you don’t have to resolve these kinds of problems, the solution is proactive and automatic to take the better for your application when they need it.

I have used this solution for two years.

We never experienced any stability issues.

I would give the technical support a 10 out of 10 rating.

Previously, we were using vRealize Operations IT Manager (vROps) but it wasn't as granular as Turbonomic.

It is very easy to setup, i.e., one VM to deploy with one week to audit your infrastructure, then add the first recommendation.

It is easy for licensing the physical core CPU.

This is the best solution.

With this product, the admin IT takes time to do other kind of jobs and not to resolve problems.

The ability to utilize simple graphs to cost-justify the addition of new equipment and resources is extremely helpful, and goes beyond what is provided in other solutions.

Automatic migration of VMs keeps our workloads balanced at an efficient level.

The "consumer and producer" model Turbonomic is based off of can be a bit difficult to understand in the beginning. Continued awareness of the "Green Circle" portal for training and tips will always be useful.

Deployment and upgrading is simple and reliable.

Customer service always responds quickly, and is knowledgeable and thorough.

I am able to balance my VMs across all my hosts in my cluster. Also it can help with right-sizing both memory and vCPU.

It allows for automation thus freeing my time to do other projects.

It would be nice if it was easier to remove a host from that we would not want to manage (licenses).

I love the product.

Automation, reports, capacity planning, dashboards.

Due to automation of workload placements Infra Management has been more efficient and smooth. Performance check and appropriate action taken to eliminate the same. Proactive suggestions based on underlying issues have helped us a lot. Due to that, we have reduced number of Incidents and effort being spent to manage our environment.

Include more report generation options using GUI instead of queries.

Resource balancing

Use it over the built-in VMware tools for distributing VMs to hosts.

The way dashboards are accessed with a pop-up can sometimes get in the way.

The cost was low and we are using it for management not analysis so hard to determine an ROI.

It is a good product for the money.

There were not a many virtualization management software options available in our price range. VMTurbo (at the time) was the only product recommended to us.

It is a solid product that does what it says.
