We were not able to pay for a version higher than vCenter Standard licenses for our virtual environment. Turbonomic stepped in and helped manage all the things that we needed to do to increase responsiveness and lower costs.

How are customer service and support?
Customer Service:
When we purchased the product they were super helpful to make sure we had all of the communication that was necessary to make sure this product was installed successfully.
Technical Support:They are very responsive. In addition when we purchased the product they trained us on all of the features and let us know if we needed any assistance in more detail to not hesitate to give them a call.

Valuable features include the reporting and management functions of if the solution.
Valuable Features:
I have found the reporting and management functions of Turbonomic second to none. I got introduced to vSphere about two years ago with a running instance of vCOPS and I found it clunky and unclear. Turbonomic gives you a simple yet very detailed overview of your virtual data centre.
Room for Improvement:
The only areas of improvement that I could think of at this moment in time is to just give it a fresh look, their new UI is currently in Beta but it looks very promising.
Use of Solution:
Approximately 6 months.
Deployment Issues:
No issues with the deployment, probably one of the simplest ones with their provided OVA template.
Customer Service:
Turbonomics customer service I found pleasant and a pleasure to work with. Any issue raised will get you a fix in a very short turnaround.
ROI:
Too early to say, but the planning feature with Turbonomic gives you a fantastic insight on requirements.
Cost and Licensing Advice:
Go for perpetual licensing where possible you will get a return on investment just on the features alone.

Infrastructure Architect at a tech services company with 10,001+ employees
One of the most valuable features for us was the automation aspect.
Valuable Features
One of the most valuable features for us was the automation aspect. Defining policies to automate the recommendation process helped us in saving valuable time and reducing manual workload. Going one step further we will be implementing the automatic deployment of hosts based on the desired state information coming from Turbonomic. This way we can have hosts dynamically installed and booted based on our workload.
Improvements to My Organization
We have been able to reduce manual labor in keeping our environment healthy performance wise.
Room for Improvement
One of the areas of improvement are the UI. The current UI feels a bit out dated. Although all information is readily available and easily accessible. From what I have heard and seen at VMworld 2016, a new UI is in development and will be released shortly.
Use of Solution
1 year.
Deployment Issues
Deployment is very simple and straightforward.
Stability Issues

Scalability Issues
Due to the ability to link multiple instance to each other, it can easily be scaled and segmented.

Infrastructure Administrator at a tech vendor with 501-1,000 employees
It has helped us justify hardware and software purchases.
What is most valuable?
The balancing of clusters has been huge for us. With a high memory contention environment Turbonomic has been invaluable in maintaining excellent performance across all of our clusters. Our DevOps team is working closely with automatic reclamation of resources that will save us tens of thousands of dollars in hardware costs.
How has it helped my organization?
The TVs in our offices display custom dashboards that display the health of clusters and the actions taken by Turbonomic. It has helped us justify hardware and software purchases by easily showing our budget-makers where improvements can be felt.
What needs improvement?

For how long have I used the solution?
9 months.
What was my experience with deployment of the solution?
No.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
No.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

How are customer service and technical support?
Customer Service:

Technical Support:10/10
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
vCOPs/vROPs. We switched because of the "engineer friendly" interface of that solution. Turbonomic's solution is much more approachable and hands off.
How was the initial setup?
Very simple. OVA/OVF file and point right to our vCenter.

I'm able to test a complete disaster recovery procedure, or plan a new VM or host implementation.
Valuable Features
The automation in Turbonomic is priceless, and all the dashboards, native or custom build, give a complete virtual and physical hardware performance view.
Improvements to My Organization
Our servers are now correctly utilized, and I am now able to test a complete disaster recovery procedure, or plan a new VM or host implementation.
Room for Improvement
Since Turbonomic can do so much, it can be a complex system to look at for one that haven’t laid eyes on it before. But there is a possibility to test out the new design, and that looks to improve on this issue.
