Easy file transfer capabilities, no data loss, and helpful triggers
Pros and Cons
  • "The user interface feels easy to use."
  • "The FTP/S and ad-hoc techniques can further be automated."

What is our primary use case?

JSCAPE MFT is a file transfer tool that has made our file-sharing easy and reliable.

The FTP/S has a security system that has key authentication, which makes it a perfect suit for full audit trials. At this price point, it is just the best tool to adopt.

Ad-hoc techniques are also one of the major implementations that helps us in sharing files.

Another cool feature is that we can lock our server using access rules based on client IP addresses. It has some of the latest supported algorithms to maintain the integrity of the user.

How has it helped my organization?

JSCAPE is primarily used for file transfer between two individuals in a company, and it can also be used across multiple persons in different organizations too.

It has some latest supported protocols like FTP/S and ad-hoc techniques, which are basic ones that are easy to use and support and maintain integrity.

The user interface feels easy to use. And the services provided are platform-independent - that means the data is never lost when shared across different operating systems.

What is most valuable?

Triggers are an added advantage for business purposes. For example, whenever a file is received by the customer, we can automatically compress it and can forward it via email to the corresponding representative for further processing.

There is no data loss when files are shared across multiple platforms with others using different operating systems.

We can share larger files in simple ways, such as FTP/S and Ad-hoc techniques.

What needs improvement?

There are no improvements needed for this product beyond the timely updates on UI or some service-based improvements.

This product has a lot of packed features and covers all the ways of sharing files over simple terms is already done. There can be a few changes in the UI made in the future to make it look active and neat.

The FTP/S and ad-hoc techniques can further be automated.

Great high-level encryption, useful database logging features, and good alert capabilities
Pros and Cons
  • "We receive customized email notifications and alerts regarding user activities and the number of login attempts."
  • "The documentation part can be improved to be more precise for beginners to understand the advanced features of the tool."

What is our primary use case?

JSCAPE MFT has got our back in transferring the files very securely using multiple protocols regardless of the time zone/location of the servers.

We have hundreds of servers operating across many countries, remote connection to these servers, and controlling the activities were a major task and transferring files was difficult.

After implementing JSCAPE MFT these tasks have become more convenient. MFT monitor software provides us an option for load testing on the server which has become very handy to understand the server downtime and failures.

How has it helped my organization?

Our applications are integrated with JSCAPE REST API where the clients can perform various file transfers securely assuring data encryption.

Administrators can perform server management functions and ensure constant service levels even during heavy system load.

We receive customized email notifications and alerts regarding user activities and the number of login attempts. This is really helpful as it helps us to solve incidents based on login issues for a user.

The main advantage of JSCAPE is that it enables users to automate complicated file transfer workflows and business processes which are less prone to errors and boost our productivity.

What is most valuable?

JSCAPE provides high-level data encryption, where we can relax about confidential or sensitive data while transferring.

The data loss is prevented using DLP engine algorithms. We use directory monitoring so it automatically runs a trigger to move files to another network share every 20 minutes.

JSCAPE has a database logging feature which is really useful for us to make sure all the servers and API activities are logged and stored in a remote database for future reference. They provide excellent 24/7 support by cooperating whenever we are in need of help.

What needs improvement?

As far as our experience, there are no significant drawbacks to using the JSCAPE MFT server.

The documentation part can be improved to be more precise for beginners to understand the advanced features of the tool.

The initial setup and configuration take some time. This process also requires additional video tutorials.

Also, the UI design can be improved in terms of look and feel.

When it comes to performance, scalability, and reliability JSCAPE MFT server scores full marks with no doubt.

I highly recommend this software for all secure file transfer needs in the business process.

User-friendly with strong security features and decent pricing
Pros and Cons
  • "The speed of transferring large datasets is super quick, which allows us to work on multiple tasks at a time."
  • "The GUI has to be enhanced."

What is our primary use case?

Nowadays, since most of the data is either confidential or comprised of large sets of data, it's difficult to trust software that makes all our manual intervention work easy.

I found working with this software quite convenient to use with easy UI and provides high security for data transfers which supports encryption protocols like SSL/TLS, SFTP, et cetera.

It is easily integrated with all servers, which ensures there is no issue working with any higher environments.

As monitoring is a key feature, it provides proper end-to-end updates of file transfers and detailed reporting.

How has it helped my organization?

Many organizations trust and only look for security measures that prevent ethical hacking of data from external sources.

This solution helps a lot by having strong security features, automating repetitive tasks, and simplifying file transfer management - all of which lead to increased efficiency, reduced errors and security risks, and improved compliance.

It is user-friendly. Any new buser can be hands-on without deep learning of any complex IT infrastructure needed.

The speed of transferring large datasets is super quick, which allows us to work on multiple tasks at a time.

What is most valuable?

It has a user-friendly web interface which makes it easy to use for those with limited technical experience.

The service includes strong security features, including support for a range of encryption protocols and key management, as well as its automation capabilities. These aspects can help streamline file transfer processes and reduce the risk of errors.

It supports a range of protocols like STFP and HTTPS, which is a strength for high security.

Integrations with multiple cloud platforms are simple, and all can be handled with a single centralized interface.

What needs improvement?

The ability to have API integrations with multiple platforms still lags. This needs to extended so that we can work with multiple types of software.

The GUI has to be enhanced. It's a bit complicated to work on many features which need assistance and technical expertise.

Customization of rules is not simple. It requires proper support to be effective.

A lack of documentation across a majority of newly released features is needed. These can be quite complex to use, and there is no proper documentation to be followed in order to leverage enhanced task workflows.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've used the solution for two to three years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The product is highly stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The product is highly scalable. It handles large volumes of file transfers and provides high efficiency.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I did previously use a different solution. However, it did not meet the requirements of what work needed to be done. We still had to do manual interventions and there were lags in data transfer which impacted our day-day tasks.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

It's a good solution and cheap to start with. Any vendors - like small startups or those with limited budgets - would benefit from this solution.

Good automation for large file transfers and independently managed
Pros and Cons
  • "We can send the data quickly and securely."
  • "Setup is time-consuming."

What is our primary use case?

This platform is used as an independently managed file transfer server that supports multiple environments.

Data can be sent securely, and no data loss happens during the transfer. Large files can be sent easily.

We can automate the data transfer based on the event or schedule.

During large file transfers, if the failure happens due to a network/internet issue, in the event of a failed file transfer, we can send the remaining data again from the last byte of data successfully transferred so that there is no need to send all of the data again.

How has it helped my organization?

JSCAPE helped us with data transfers.

We can send the data quickly and securely.

No data will be lost during the transfer.

If any interruption occurs during the transfer, there is no need to send the data again; we can send the data from where it was interrupted.

We can set the automatic file transfer on a scheduled basis or based on other event conditions.

We can create multiple virtual servers, each with its own set of users and permissions.

It performs email-based file transfers while avoiding the issues commonly experienced with large email attachments.

What is most valuable?

I found the triggers feature the most valuable. Using this feature, we can quickly automate the business processes based on events or conditions so that whenever any file is received by vendors/customers, we can automatically compress that file, and then we can forward the compressed file via email to the respective owner for further processing.

There is no need to compress the file manually, as it has an automatic compression feature.

Also, the ad-hoc file transfer features perform email-based file transfers, which avoids issues commonly experienced with large email attachments.

What needs improvement?

In the next release, some additional features could be added:

  • Setup is time-consuming. Also, maintenance is difficult. These could have been made easier.
  • The upgrade process is a bit difficult.
  • The interface could have been more user-friendly, and more improvements are needed because it is hard to use.
  • More documentation is needed to understand the usage.
  • Server configuration is complex, and settings are difficult to identify.
  • Customer support is good. We get our resolution, but sometimes the response is a bit delayed.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've used the solution for one year.

Secure, user-friendly, and offers good authentification
Pros and Cons
  • "It helped in confidentially transferring files with a vast number of servers available with no external applications required."
  • "The initial setup is a bit hectic during the installation."

What is our primary use case?

We are mainly using this software to transfer files fast and smoothly with data protection. Most of our data is confidential.

We are using this software mainly due to the fact that it is versatile, as we can use it for any kind of operating system, and it works pretty well in all conditions.

Since there is no client software to install, licensing and support expenses are greatly decreased. All that your clients need to begin transferring files is a web browser.

Additionally, users do not need to worry about stringent internal firewall policies when using the integrated web client since most organizations do not limit web-based traffic.

How has it helped my organization?

It definitely improves any organization which buys this software, as there are numerous options provided.

It helped in confidentially transferring files with a vast number of servers available with no external applications required.

It is so user-friendly that even new team members can understand how to use it effectively without making any mistakes.

They have more security access as no one can hack them and take our data. It offers good authentication features.

What is most valuable?

They have enormous amounts of features built in which makes our life simpler and avoids complications.

This offers very good data protection and proof mechanisms.

It will work in almost every organization, no matter the kind of operating system they use. It works fine in all conditions.

We can transfer files over email while avoiding the problems typically associated with large email attachments.

What needs improvement?

The initial setup is a bit hectic during the installation.

The documentation could be better. The web viewer could be customized more effectively as customer requirements are different for different organizations that have their unique requirements.

There should have been a self-upgrade option for software whenever required so that every time we do not need to ask a service engineer for it.

The basic problem in every software is that if the price is low, the features on offer are low.

The rest all looks good to me

For how long have I used the solution?

I've used the solution for over one year.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The stability is good.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I'd rate the scalability capabilities eight out of ten.

How are customer service and support?

I have nothing much to say about technical support. They have been good.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We did not use a different solution previously.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup was a complex process.

Secure, user-friendly, and helpful when migrating files
Pros and Cons
  • "The user-friendly interface has made it easy for fresh users to adopt it."
  • "The cost of the tool is relatively high and can pose a problem to medium and small-scale companies who are trying to overcome their on-premise server limitations."

What is our primary use case?

JSCAPE has helped with migrating the files/documents in a secure and reliable manner. We can use multiple protocols across varied regional locations of the servers.

Our project handles hundreds of servers hosted across the US and Asia-Pacific which were communicated via remote control and SSH. Before implementing JSCAPE into our project, we had to manually transfer files which consumed a huge chunk of our time as it was a tedious process, and documentation of these tasks was hectic.

JSCAPE server has helped us to migrate and upload files in a flawless manner.

How has it helped my organization?

JSCAPE helped us to migrate files across different regions with little to zero latency and the speed at which it is migrated is optimum and precise with zero hassles.

Since files contain data that is of utmost importance, this tool has helped us manage the files securely with well-defined protocols such as SSL/FTP, etc.

It is user-friendly and does not require a huge amount of time to set up and the user interface is beginner-friendly. Onboarders swiftly adapted to it and started utilizing it immediately.

What is most valuable?

The user-friendly interface has made it easy for fresh users to adopt it.

Since the tool employs reliable and robust security guidelines, it has reduced our worry about the aspect of leakage of data and has made it reliable.

The range of protocols like STFP and HTTPS/FTP/SSL/TLS is excellent.

The configuration is relatively simple and the tool can be set up instantly. Companies can start using it to maximize productivity. We have utilized it to transfer files to different regions all around the globe safely.

What needs improvement?

The cost of the tool is relatively high and can pose a problem to medium and small-scale companies who are trying to overcome their on-premise server limitations. The features that are offered do not cover a wide range of operations which in turn hinders the optimum use of the product.

The support team for the product is below average and needs to improve on their aptitude for communication. The technical assistance provided for troubleshooting sessions is time-consuming is often detrimental to the business.

For how long have I used the solution?

We have been using the product for less than six months.

Fast, secure, and easy to automate
Pros and Cons
  • "It is easy to transfer large sets of files."
  • "The JSCAPE team could create detailed documents or blogs on how to troubleshoot certain errors that come over in integration with existing environment tools."

What is our primary use case?

Our project is a security monitoring project whose client is the government entity of Japan. We are supposed to handle very confidential files that need to be protected in storage as well as transfer.

Before the use of JSCAPE, we used to transfer files over mail or upload the files in SharePoint for anyone to access.

JSCAPE is a faster and very secure file transfer software that was very easy to implement with our existing security tools.

Using JSCAPE we have automated the file transfer (i.e. critical import files which are transferred on a daily basis at the end of the working day either from the customer to us or vice versa).

How has it helped my organization?

Being a cybersecurity analyst I believe security should be the priority of each and every file transfer application. JSCAPE is a secured file transfer application that is fast, and efficient, and also lets us automate tasks providing us with a hassle-free environment.

This has reduced the time that the associates had to manually transfer huge files on a daily basis as well as this is faster than other file-transferring software and since it is automated there is no scope for error.

Now associates can concentrate on critically more important tasks rather than performing repetitive task on a daily basis.

What is most valuable?

Being able to transfer huge files that would take a large amount of time to transfer in a few minutes is really an impressive feature. It is easy to transfer large sets of files.

Another valuable feature is automation. If you are able to automate the file transfer of large files in a secure manner without little to no human intervention that is bliss. Associates don't have to worry about security as JSCAPE supports a variety of protocols that helps in secured file transfer.

What needs improvement?

The integration with our security tools was a hassle when we implemented JSCAPE for secure file transfer. The JSCAPE team could create detailed documents or blogs on how to troubleshoot certain errors that come over in integration with existing environment tools. They could provide a walkthrough of all features in detail as the associates would not be aware of all the features that can be implemented and used to ease the workload.

JSCAPE team can maybe implement more pre-build integration setups that would help projects with changing business needs.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've used the solution for less than a year.
