We performed a comparison between Control-M and JSCAPE by Redwood based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Managed File Transfer (MFT) solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."The initial setup is largely straightforward."
"Maintaining and monitoring of workloads have been and continue to be the most valuable feature in our environment."
"It provides a unified view where you can orchestrate and monitor all your application workloads and data pipelines. That's very important because with cloud, software as a service, edge computing, traditional data center, and legacy apps, there are all these environments. If you don't have that single pane of glass or that one place to look at, you're going to invest a lot of time and resources into tracking things down when they go wrong."
"It is an enterprise tool that integrates with all the applications in our organization. It has made our life easier because we don't need to wake up at midnight and do monitoring, etc. It does everything. It also sends precautionary alerts. If a job or activity is running for more than the specified time, it alerts the application team. So, our teams do not need to sit in front of a laptop or any open application to watch the jobs. They can do their other regular activities while Control-M takes care of all the jobs. It notifies them when there is job completion, delay, and error."
"The most valuable features are the Advanced File Transfer and the manage file transfer. They make transferring files securely seamless. It's very easy to set up, get deployed, and have it transferred to and from vendors. As long as we can get our firewall rules implemented at a decent time, it's very easy and seamless to get important files transferred in a secure manner."
"The most valuable feature is the reporting function. It allows us to pull up reports for specific information that the end-users are looking for."
"The initial setup is straightforward."
"The integration with ServiceNow is good. When a job ends and there are problems with it, we automatically open an incident in this platform, and the number of the incident is forwarded to Control-M. This means that we have a record of it with the log of the job."
"It is platform-independent and can flawlessly work on any operating system using the latest security standards."
"It is easy to transfer large sets of files."
"The user interface feels easy to use."
"We can send the data quickly and securely."
"Automating and managing the file transfer using JSCAPE has decreased the manual interventions necessary and increased the organization's efficiency and productivity."
"One of the standout features of this particular tool is its automation capabilities."
"JSCAPE's automation can obliterate manual file transfer processes, salvaging precious time and vanquishing the chances of errors."
"Triggers are something that is very useful as they automate the use of boilerplate code, and we can define certain functionality of certain tasks also."
"Sometimes, with technical support, they will take feedback, but you don't know where that feedback goes or if it proceeds along in the thought process."
"We have some plug-ins like BOBJ, and we need a little improvement there. Other than that, it has been pretty good. I haven't seen any issues."
"Integration with some applications and platforms is complex and requires development. We have done some integration with the application integrator, but it was more like a manual solution. This is an area that can be improved."
"I am unsure if Control-M is compliant with Microsoft Azure environment integrations. We have some clients in Azure environments. Specifically, in Canada, government agencies and nonprofits mostly use Microsoft Azure."
"Control-M doesn't have any dynamic reporting facilities or features."
"The report form and display function are weak; they are not very powerful."
"I'm not sure how the solution fits together with our business modernization initiatives, as there are things outside of my area, even though Control-M is the scheduling tool of the company. They may use other things, e.g., Big Data."
"They really need to work on improving the web interface, as there are still a lot of bugs... In general, they need to do a lot of work on shoring up their testing and quality assurance. A lot of bugs seem to make it into the product."
"Support for more complicated workflows, such as conditional logic or branching, could be added to allow users to create more advanced automation processes."
"Providing initial guidance would help new users to understand the UI."
"Enhancing the user interface would make it more accessible and appealing to the new users and it will definitely enhance the user experience."
"The user interface (UI) could be improved."
"Improving the error handling feature can help users to identify and resolve issues more quickly and efficiently."
"The initial setup is time-consuming; it could use a video tutorial."
"With constant software releases and updates, detailed notifications and documentation on the improvements along with the comparison of the past and present features would be helpful to understand and use it better."
"Database crashing was seen whenever there was an overload."
