I would recommend Veritas NetBackup due to its ease of use, scalability, and cost-effectiveness per terabyte. It is a solid product for disaster recovery and backup operations. I'd rate the solution eight out of ten.
I've used Veritas NetBackup for cyber recovery Solutions. It works fine with the CyberArk solution and data domain, but integrating Veritas NetBackup can be complex. I rate the overall solution an eight out of ten. If you want to use Veritas NetBackup, base your solution on your needs and capabilities. Use application appliances like data domain or similar setups.

I would recommend Veritas NetBackup as it is relatively easy to manage and can serve as a single-vendor solution. If deployed correctly, it proves to be a good solution with integrated security and scalability. I rate it a nine out of ten.
After uploading servers and applications to the Veritas NetBackup application, we schedule backups to run when our applications are least active, ensuring that resources are available for the backup process. Additionally, we perform quarterly restores to validate the integrity of our backups, ensuring that all data backed up in each month of the quarter can be successfully restored. We have backups in three different environments. We have a retention policy for our backups, typically set to three months. We also have a policy to archive the backups to our library. Even after the three-month retention on the media server, we keep a copy in our ADAP environment, which retains data for longer. Recently, we encountered an issue where most of our DR environment went offline, resulting in the loss of several servers. Fortunately, we had the catalog from Veritas NetBackup, which allowed us to restore our environment quickly. Instead of reinstalling everything from scratch, we could pick up where we left off by restoring the backups in different environments. New users can search for the product online, read what they want to do, and do it on their own. I rate it a nine out of ten.
One person is enough to maintain the solution. After you set up and configure Veritas NetBackup, you don't have to maintain the solution that much. Veritas NetBackup is the best solution for a huge organization like ours, with three data centers, 3,000 virtual machines, and different DB servers. Overall, I rate Veritas NetBackup an eight out of ten.
I have experience as a backup administrator and solution architect. I do not know whether the solution has a SaaS version. Currently, the trend is to move to a SaaS-based backup solution. I would recommend the product to others. It is used by several customers. It is a good solution. Overall, I rate the product an eight out of ten.
I would rate Veritas NetBackup ten out of ten. Veritas NetBackup is managed by two people and serves our ministry with nearly ten thousand employees. There are nearly ten departments, with a storage capacity of 100 terabytes. Veritas NetBackup is a mature solution, and I recommend it and its professional services.
It is easier to find a backup solution engineer with technical expertise for Veritas NetBackup because it is a popular product in my country. The solution's backup time is good. The solution is easy to deploy for newer projects, and we find it very stable. Just one person is required to maintain the solution. I would recommend Veritas NetBackup to other users. Overall, I rate Veritas NetBackup a nine out of ten.
I recommend the tool to others. It's an enterprise solution. It comes with various options that can meet different needs. If someone is looking for a backup and recovery solution that meets the needs of both large and small-scale businesses, Veritas NetBackup is a good option. Overall, I rate the solution a seven out of ten.
Veritas is a cost-effective solution, and it meets our requirements. So it's not bad. Despite some disadvantages in terms of support, I would rate the solution a ten out of ten.
For a recommendation, I absolutely recommend it as the best product that I know for the backup world, and why I'm saying it's the best is because it's very, very responsive, and very scalable. And personally, I have had good experiences with the support, and also I'm very familiar with Veritas. But mostly, it's because you can back up your environment safely with Veritas NetBackup. The best way to use the solution is with commands since they have roots in Linux. The current web interface is still outdated, and you cannot do many things in the web interface that you can do with the command line. If you don't have a strong knowledge of the solution, it will be hard to manage. Otherwise, the product is very versatile and scalable that allows you to back up your environments easily, and I would rate the solution an eight out of ten.

Everything is available through Veritas. They have a very good team who take care of all kinds of operating systems, as well as working on machine platforms. Veritas takes care of the monthly updates, so whatever is happening on the cloud side, master side, or the technology side, they take care of so you don't need to push to introduce the new features. Veritas is the market leader in enterprise backup software. It has all the required features that are available in the market, always staying one step ahead. Deployment is easy as they have all the documentation required. Their database knowledge system is good. Lastly, technical support has all the proper processes in place including escalation metrics. I would rate this solution a 10 out of 10.

My advice to others looking at this solution would be make sure it meets all of your requirements. Do you have an on-prem, off-prem, cloud requirement? Do your homework to make sure that whatever product you're looking at meets all the requirements that you need. I would rate the solution a seven out of ten. It's a very rock solid product, but I wouldn't give it a 10, because it doesn't have some of the newer features of the newer products. But it is a solid product.
There are around 100 people making use of the solution in our company. The solution is easy and very good. I would absolutely recommend the solution to others. I rate Veritas NetBackup as an eight out of ten.

I have a lot of experience with it and I have a lot of experience with Veeam. I think that the only weakness with Veritas is the user interface. It's not friendly and it's not easy to understand. For functionality in protecting the data, it has all of the requirements to protect any workload on the virtual machines. It's the best solution in the market right now. If you are considering Veritas, you should have a qualified team that is trained in using NetBackup. If the team does not have the required experience, they will find it difficult and they will think that it an issue with the product. It is a good product as long as you have a good team to manage it at each stage. I would rate Veritas NetBackup a seven out of ten.

I trust Veritas. I would recommend this solution to a friend or to any company. But remember, what you'll get from it depends on your personal ability. Overall, on a scale from one to ten, I would give this solution a rating of eight. If the support was faster and the solution was more user-friendly, I would give it a higher rating.
About seven or eight years back, Veritas and Commvault were considered the de facto leaders in the backup landscape. During that time, there were no major alternatives such as Veeam, and many customers relied solely on Veritas and were loyal to the product. But nowadays, new customers have options, especially when it comes to smaller scale backup solutions for the small-medium type of companies. With us, we now see a multitude of different clients, from small companies to the enterprise. The average company that is using multiple virtualization platforms, or physical platforms running Unix systems, will typically go with Veritas NetBackup rather than Veeam because Veeam is still in its infancy period when it comes to supporting these kinds of platforms. However, it does depend on the environment. Some of the smaller clients that we see will only have 4-5 VMs, and in that situation NetBackup typically won't be a good match because it's oriented towards a more sophisticated environment, especially concerning licensing. When we do pre-sales with our customers, we tell them that they need to have back-to-back support from their executives, and we always teach them to allocate their reports to the OPEX budget, because they will need to have at least the latest supported version at all times running alongside their production servers. Unfortunately, somehow, there are always one or two customers who are still using unsupported machines. I would rate Veritas NetBackup an eight out of ten.

We are resellers. We resell both Veritas and Quorum products. In Malaysia, solutions like this are typically installed on-premises. Overall, I would rate the solution at a seven out of ten. Veritas is a very good solution. I'd recommend other organizations to try it, however, to always do proper capacity planning before going with Veritas, as they may not be happy with the price later if they just assume the prices. They should do a thorough assessment before purchasing NetBackup.
I would recommend this solution. We are a system integrator, and we have a lot of users who have been using this solution for ten years. The only problem that we are facing now is of speed. We will continue to use it, but we are also looking for a better solution to back up more quickly. Speed is our main requirement. We might continue to use Veritas if they can provide a parallel solution, a cluster solution, or a cloud solution to back up our data more quickly. Otherwise, we will switch to another vendor. I would rate Veritas NetBackup a nine out of ten.

I would recommend the product. It is a good product. Most important criteria when selecting a vendor: The product does what it says it does and it supports all our needs.
Veritas NetBackup is an enterprise-grade backup and recovery software solution. NetBackup securely restores and backs up files, raw partitions, and directories on a server known as a media server. A server protected by NetBackup is referred to as a NetBackup client. During the backup process, the NetBackup client sends the data through the network to the NetBackup media server, which chooses the appropriate storage media as the backup point.

We're Veritas partners, however, we are independent and completely neutral towards our partners. I'm a consultant. I don't use the product. I evaluate the product for clients. The clients are the ones who use the product. I'd advise other organizations to look at both their on-prem and cloud together. It's good to manage everything from one place. I'd rate the solution eight out for ten.
I would recommend this product because of the ease of use, the simple installation and that the solution is on cloud rather than on-prem. It's important to research options and to do fact finding before getting into it. You need to know that this is the solution you're looking for. Finally, no matter how well your environment is maintained, or well kept, or how well your disaster recovery plans are in place, at some point you will need a backup solution. I would rate this solution an eight out of 10.
Since we are a service provider, we have a close relationship with Veritas. We offer services based on their technology and on their product. I'd advise others considering implementing the solution to first evaluate against use cases. Depending on the use cases, the cost can change quite a lot. Overall, I'd recommend the solution, however. It's quite good and very reliable. I'd rate the solution seven out of ten.
I think it's probably a solution that has passed its prime. There are probably better ones out there. I would rate it a seven out of ten.
This is a solution that I recommend. I would rate this solution a ten out of ten.
My advice is that it is a perfect product. I would rate it an 8 out of 10 overall. I wouldn't give it a ten because it doesn't have the necessary full backup capabilities and because it is missing functionalities like the archiving feature which is not there.
I have not had any issues or problems when using this solution. It has been working perfectly for our primary use case. I would rate this solution eight out of ten.
I would advise not to use this tool. I think between the licensing issues and the older solution mentality it is not a great solution. They really have not kept up with the times.
I would recommend the product. It is a good product. Most important criteria when selecting a vendor: The product does what it says it does and it supports all our needs.
