The product is cost-effective, and I would rate its pricing as an eight out of ten. The pricing model is based on the amount of data transferred, making it manageable for us.
The solution is expensive. I rate the pricing an eight out of ten. The price could be a problem for smaller businesses. We’re engaged with the product as an enterprise. We might have received a lot of discounts on the price. It might not be the same for a small-scale business.
We compare Veritas with Zerto and HPE. It is a bit cheaper. So, we purchased Veritas for storage and the temporary library, and now we are configuring everything from scratch.
As for the price, it's quite expensive, actually. It is expensive. If you want to make a comparison, for example, with Acronis Backup or Avamar, other solutions used here, NetBackup is indeed on the costly side. The NetBackup appliance, specifically the appliance license is expensive. That's why some clients opt for alternatives like Veeam for virtual machine backup.
The solution is expensive. I would rate the solution an eight of ten, with one being cheap and ten being expensive. We have an unlimited license with NetBackup, with support for upgrades. Mainly, the product itself is a one-time purchase, and then there will be more for support, maintenance, or other additional features that you will have to pay for, and it will not be forever.

It is reasonably priced. It is dependent on the institution as well as the company's requirements. Veeam provides a free corporate license for their platform, whereas Veritas does not. Perhaps there will be a trial version period, after which we will need to purchase it. Veeam, for example, has a Community Edition, which is free for usage, without any support. This does not exist in Veritas. You can try it for 30, 40 days, or a month trial, then you need to pay for it and start the obligation. For example, I use Veeam without any subscription or license. There is a big difference.

Pricing depends on the number of licenses and on the number of servers you have. It varies based on the number of servers that you're trying to back up.

It is slightly more expensive than Commvault, but it is pretty much the same. It is an enterprise solution, so it scales quite well. It has a lot of features. So, you pay for what you get. It is not cheap, but it is fit for the purpose.

In Veritas, I'm hoping for a better price. Veritas NetBackup is very expensive, and I think price is the main reason which some customers don't want to use this solution.

Its price is quite reasonable. The cost depends on the depreciation and the volume. It also depends on the infrastructure. If your infrastructure increases, you would need some more licenses.
When you compare NetBackup's software licensing system with Veeam's, which is simpler and based on instances (or how many physical machines or virtual machines you want to protect), NetBackup isn't that competitive for smaller scale companies. However, if you're running many large workloads, then NetBackup may be the better option.

We pay on an annual basis. There are some additional costs to the standard licensing fees, but they're all optional. The pricing, of course, can always be better.

It is very expensive. The licensing cost for this solution is on a yearly basis. It is approximately 50k. We will continue using it at least for the next year, but we are currently doing an analysis to switch to some other solution.
I don't know the licensing costs off the top of my head, but it's pretty high compared to other solutions out there. There are also additional costs for things like support.

I find the cost of this solution to be high. The licensing is done based on the size of the source. If you have a source size of one terabyte then they will charge for a one terabyte license, although what is actually being stored is much less. This is something that they can improve on.

I am aware of the list pricing. It can be quite high if your company has a lot of storage. It's licensed on a per terabyte basis. Depending on how many terabytes you have, that will ultimately determine the cost. There aren't any additional costs beyond the per terabyte pricing.

I don't have the actual figures at the moment, but this is a costly product. Additional expenses would come in when other devices are integrated to the backup solution in that tape library.

Compared to other solutions, such as Dell EMC's Avamar, the solution is reasonably priced. We've got a simple payment scheme set up where most of the features and the product itself are included in one single cost. It's quite straight forward in terms of pricing.
Veritas NetBackup is an enterprise-grade backup and recovery software solution. NetBackup securely restores and backs up files, raw partitions, and directories on a server known as a media server. A server protected by NetBackup is referred to as a NetBackup client. During the backup process, the NetBackup client sends the data through the network to the NetBackup media server, which chooses the appropriate storage media as the backup point.
Veritas NetBackup is a trusted enterprise backup...

The solution is expensive compared to other alternatives.

I rate the product's pricing a seven out of ten.
Veritas NetBackup is more expensive than other backup solutions like Dell Power Protect and Veeam Backup.
When we consider the quality and value of Veritas NetBackup, it is worth the cost.

Veritas NetBackup is quite expensive and licensing costs are fixed.

The price of Veritas NetBackup is high, it should be reduced.
The licensing model for this solution is very powerful. The licenses are related to the number of years.
We only pay a yearly license for support.
Pricing is expensive, so it could be lower.

The price is reasonable. We purchased a perpetual license and perform SMS renewals.

Our license is capacity-based.
The pricing is high. They need to work to make it lower or more competitive. Our customers directly purchase the license.
There is a license required for this solution and it is priced based upon the data used.
The price is okay.
NetBackup is expensive. They need to work on the pricing side. I find it comparatively on the higher side when I compare the terabyte backup costs.
The price is fair.
I think a complete license costs some $70,0000 a year. I wouldn't know the breakdown of what each feature costs.

Price-wise, most of the backup products are similarly priced, and NetBackup is the same. There is perhaps a 10% difference in price between solutions.
The solution is pretty expensive, which is why it's important to do proper sizing and capacity planning, so that you aren't buying more than you need.
We pay on an annual basis. There are some additional costs to the standard licensing fees, but they're all optional. The pricing, of course, can always be better.
In terms of cost, it's not very good. I would rate it a five or six out of ten. They want everything to be sales and money.
A better price would make this product more competitive.
Pricing is good, under our budget, and flexible.
It is very expensive. The licensing cost for this solution is on a yearly basis. It is approximately 50k. We will continue using it at least for the next year, but we are currently doing an analysis to switch to some other solution.
We are happy with the pricing that we have, but it's expensive.

Licensing fees are charged based on the number of CPU cores.
My licensing model is based on capacity so as we grow, the price we pay increases and it becomes too expensive.

Veritas Netbackup offers affordable licensing.
I think that the pricing and licensing for this solution is good. It is affordable.
The licensing model is cost-prohibitive as you scale out.
