We didn't have to pay a lot for the solution because we got it from a good vendor with a good user volume. We would have got the product at a high price from some other vendor. We also checked with other vendors, and we got the solution at the cheapest price in our region. Currently, we are paying 8.75 per month per user.

The licensing and pricing need to be improved. It needs to be streamlined and a bit cheaper. That said, I don't directly deal with the licensing. I can't speak to how much we paid for it. I'd rate the solution 3.5 out of five in terms of affordability.

Price-wise, this product is middle-of-the-road. I'm sure that there are cheaper solutions. I suggest negotiating either at the end of their fiscal year or at the end of every quarter. At the end of the quarter, they have an incentive to lower the prices to sell as many units as possible in order to meet their end-of-quarter quota.

When we started with it, I think they were eager to get people in, but we only had $20,000 in our budget for backup, so that's all we had to work with and I told the sales rep that. They kept it in line. They came in, I think just pennies under $20,000, which was pretty good. It was pretty good because other solutions were much higher and that included two terabytes of space for message archiving. And if I remember correctly Office 365 Cloud Backup was unlimited. It seemed to be a package deal. It was a package deal because we had a price that we needed to stay under and they worked on getting to that price. We pay annually. They never charged us for anything else. And they were quite a bit under that $20,000 mark. It was $19,074. And they've been pretty good about not skyrocketing the price or anything like that. It has gone up. It's gone up to $24,000 in 2020.
The popularity of Microsoft 365 means criminals test and design their attacks to bypass its native security features. And that means you need additional layers of defense. With Advanced Threat Protection enabled, Barracuda uses multiple layers of detection, including signature, static, and behavioral analysis, along with CPU-emulation sandboxing to accurately detect and block zero-hour targeted attacks and ransomware.

The price is similar to that of Microsoft 365. There’s only a 4% to 5% difference between the prices of Barracuda and Microsoft 365.
Barracuda licensing model is good. The price could always be better.
The product is expensive. We purchase its annual license.
On a scale from one to ten, where one is cheap, and ten is expensive, I rate the solution's pricing a seven out of ten.
The price is cheaper than other competitors.
I rate the pricing a five out of ten since it is in the middle. We only pay for the licensing costs.
