The price of Fortinet FortiMail steadily increases every year. There is a possible ten percent increase. It's concerning because Fortinet is well-known, and even large companies like IBM use it. However, the yearly price hikes aren't favorable for consumers.
FortiMail is not cheap. The basic license is not bad, but the high level of solutions is not cheap. Our customers like the basic license but find it too expensive to buy detailed technical solutions.
The solution is quite pricey compared to other competitors in the market. Due to Fortinet's reliability and quality service, Fortinet offers a high cost. We rate it around seven. So, it's pretty pricey. ur licensing costs for FortiMail are quite high, especially with the currency exchange rates in Pakistan. The costs keep increasing day by day, and we are concerned about it. There are no additional costs. We only pay for the maintenance.
The pricing is reasonable, and this is why small to medium enterprises are adopting it. Price-wise, the solution is not far from Microsoft ATP. So, it is affordable.
We paid approximately $30,000 for the solution. It is less expensive than some other solutions. We have one license that carries all the features that we wanted.

What's more important to me is the functionality and stability of Fortinet FortiMail. In terms of Fortinet FortiMail licensing, the cost is calculated based on company requirements. For example, it's based on the features you need for your environment, on capacity, how many CPUs you have, etc.

At the end of the day, they look at the performance and the price, and Fortinet covers all the bases.

In terms of licensing, we are using a virtual machine license for the single virtual server which it runs on. Doing it this way enables us to cut costs by only licensing FortiMail for our exact use case. If you need to expand in future, you can later buy extra licenses per virtual machine.
We're using two products, the FortiSandbox, which is actually the sandbox environment of FortiMail and FortiMail. We're paying about 9,000 Euros per year for those two products. It is pretty cost-effective for Greece. Fortinet is very aggressive with their pricing.
Approximately five years ago the price was low. Now the price is a bit on the high side. I understand it is because the product comes with a vendor license. One vendor can do many things. The price is acceptable for the support license it includes.
