We haven't discussed the community edition yet because we're not considering it. We're specifically talking about the enterprise edition. After Adobe acquired Magento, there were advantages in terms of service, among other things. The price of the solution increased after Adobe acquired Magento. At this point, we know the price of Magento and SAP, and while they may have lower entry tickets, they are ultimately comparable.
When it comes to the pricing, the community addition is free, but there's an enterprise addition which of course is paid for. With the community addition, you need to develop a lot of things from scratch.
The price of the solution currently does not make sense because there are too many platforms that are very low scale, easy to use, and plug and play, such as Shopify or WooCommerce. These platforms are really easy to start with. If you are a starter company, it does not make sense to go with Magento. If you are a large company, you would want a higher scalability solution, such as Salesforce Commerce Cloud. At the moment, Magento is stuck in the middle of a nobody-wants-me market.

In some countries, such as Greece or some Southeastern European countries, the price for the client can be expensive. If you look at the center of North America and the North European countries, I think the price is very reasonable.
Magento is an open source framework. For the community edition, anyone can set up shop and use it. But overall what you have to keep in mind is just choosing the right solution within Magento also, depending on the scale of the business. That's the only thing they would have to keep in mind.

Many implementations were open-source. We also had a couple of enterprise-level implementations, but I didn't have visibility on the licensing cost.
The cost of implementation is cheap compared to other solutions.
