All products from Oracle are very pricey. Microsoft always works out to be a cheaper tool. If you have anything that you do with Microsoft, then price-wise, it is very competitive. Microsoft Power BI licenses are available for 100 USD per user. For this customer who had the tool, it was reaching the end of the line phase for them. The choice was to go for an updated version or move to a new platform. When my company did the cost-benefit analysis and considered the client's requirements, we saw that it was too big a software for them. They just had 1,400,000,000 USD worth, and it didn't make sense to have Oracle OBIEE. SQL and Power BI combination was actually bringing down the costs and making it ten to fifteen times cheaper than Oracle OBIEE for my customer. I don't know. There was a software-managed company that provided managed services on servers and all those.

We bought a one-time license for Oracle OBIEE, and annually pay the support fee. When it comes to pricing, it's quite expensive. I would rate the price of this solution 2 out of 10, towards the expensive side.
There are no licensing costs attached to the solution anymore. A person only needs to pay towards the subscription costs since it is a cloud-based solution. I use the free version of Oracle OBIEE.
In our organization, we use a user-based license for Oracle OBIEE, and I've heard that the license cost is based on the number of users. Also, I cannot comment further since I am not involved in the solution's cost-related part.

I believe usage tracking is the best solution for OBIEE pricing. You can charge your customers per any period of time by calculating the CPU time, the database time, or the number of reports or dashboards used by customers based on usage tracking.

Power BI is less expensive than Oracle OBIEE. A benefit to Power BI is having the option to work with concurrent licensing. I rate the price of Oracle OBIEE a one out of five.
If you compare Qlik Sense and Oracle OBIEE licensing, then Oracle products are much better. With Qlik Sense, you have to pay per client and per use. But we get Oracle OBIEE along with the Oracle database, making it much more cost-effective in the long term.

They were reasonable in terms of price. I wouldn't say they were expensive. Pricing was adequate. It's comparable to the current technology we're using, Qlik Sense. We never had any issues with the pricing of Oracle OBIEE.
Simplifying the data integration process would save our clients considerable costs. Our clients would be in a position to address any licensing costs. I cannot comment on the account, since we only make use of it.
The solution is a bit expensive for a lot of clients. Many might not have the funds available for Oracle products. Most believe it to be a costly product. Nobody has compared it to the other reporting tools, however. They might not understand the costs involved.

This is an expensive solution and I think people tend to stop using this product as a result. Cost is a major factor in companies choosing other solutions.
The solution has a reputation for being expensive and has a confusing pricing model. There aren't extra fees on top of the main licensing costs, however.

I'm not sure what the solution costs. I'm not involved with aspects of billing or contract negotiations. I don't know if we pay on a monthly or yearly basis.
I can't recall the exact pricing. There are three different categories. The pricing is available online. If you go to their website they're quoted there and they charge per hour band per day as they have different offers for their customers. If you want to know about their pricing of the particular categories, on their website their prices will be available there. Their prices have changed from the last year. Right now I don't have any sense of price. However, I was part of the implementation team, and I noticed their pricing is not much higher but it's moderate pricing.
Setup cost, pricing, and licensing for OBIEE are all geared towards more substantial enterprises. A full blown HA - Dr setup can have many moving parts.

Always talk with a Oracle representative and negotiate a discount. I already saw 99% of discounts and a free licence once. Some times is cheaper if you get a hardware together (helps to negotiate a discount)

The pricing we negotiated with Oracle. But, I do not have details.
I think to spread this across an enterprise will be a significant investment. Be prepared to spend a lot of time and money.
