The vendor offers flexible licensing options. Tricentis NeoLoad has a SaaS platform. The solution can probably be available between 30 and 50 thousand per year, while open-source tools cost way less.
The tool's pricing is somewhat higher than licensed tools like LoadRunner. The approximate cost is around $25,000. There are no additional charges for maintenance or support. Everything is included in the package we have.
For the client-side... pricing obviously comes into the picture in our company. Maybe when compared to LoadRunner, NeoLoad has less costs. Compared to that, it's somehow affordable. They used LoadRunner earlier, and they switched to NeoLoad. So I've used JMeter and NeoLoad, but NeoLoad is pretty much good, better than JMeter. JMeter is a free, open-source tool.
Tricentis NeoLoad is much cheaper compared to other tools like LoadRunner. The solution helps save in other areas like scalability, integrations, usability, and the required manpower.

Tricentis NeoLoad is not an expensive solution, but it can be quite expensive if we need a license for load testing, depending on the organization level. On a scale from one to ten, where one is expensive, and ten is cheap, I rate Tricentis NeoLoad's pricing a seven out of ten.
Tricentis NeoLoad doesn't offer different pricing models. In our company, when we go with short-term projects, Tricentis NeoLoad serves as an investment tool. From a licensing cost perspective, I rate the product an eight out of ten since it is a cheap solution that looks costly for certain areas.
NeoLoad now has a much more flexible licensing process. Earlier, it was hectic with people. Nowadays, licensing itself is a killer for most products. For example, we purchased the Tableau license, and they had this on-premise licensing server setup, which is not working at all. So we had to ask them to give us a cloud license, and the discussion is still going on. They are trying to charge us additional stuff for Tableau. So our clients are now in a situation where they might abandon the product due to licensing issues, making it complex. People don't want to go through this. Really, it's easier to use the tool, but licensing itself takes a lot of unwanted complications. So, with NeoLoad, we gave feedback and asked them to simplify the licensing model, and they came back with a better proposal.
I don't have information on the licensing cost of Tricentis NeoLoad because my manager handles that. From a testing perspective and based on company requirements, the current license is for one thousand users.
A couple of years ago, I paid around $USD9,000 per year for 250 users. The license fee includes web protocol, STTP protocol, and API. There might be an additional cost if you want Citrix, RDP or SAP.

Pricing for Tricentis NeoLoad could be cheaper because, at the moment, it's expensive. For a year, the solution cost us a lot of money, in particular, more than $50,000.
Pricing is always cheaper with Tricentis NeoLoad versus the very expensive Micro Focus LoadRunner. Pricing is really less compared to Micro Focus LoadRunner, but once this product goes under the Tricentis umbrella, we don't know how much are they charging for it now. I have not looked into the most recent pricing for Tricentis NeoLoad.
I'm not exactly sure what the pricing is as it differs from client to client. That said, LoadRunner is expensive and NeoLoad is less expensive whereas JMeter is free.
