HPE Primera is used for shared storage. We have two servers connected via fiber channel to primary storage. In these two servers, we are running three databases. These three databases are installed in the shared storage. So, the shared storage is into the HPE Primera storage or disks. We have 80 volumes of one terabyte each, and we have a total of eight terabytes capacity on Primera storage with an extra capacity of four terabytes for the caps. The applications running on the HPE server mount all the mounting points in the shared storage, including the database.
I use the solution in my company for virtual machines. My company uses Cray ClusterStor E1000 NVMe Gen4 for all HPC clusters. HPE Primera is useful for data replication.
I use the solution in my company as a cloud infrastructure where we run VMs. My company uses VMware ESXi and HPE Primera as storage. HPE Primera is also useful to run and allocate machines to VMs.
We use HP Primera to store all data related to machine learning applications. Our machine learning team's critical research-related data is saved on the tool.

It serves as both the primary production area and the backup location. We have one at the primary site and another at the secondary site for applications. This involves a form of remote copying between the two arrays, allowing us to switch between them seamlessly during working hours.

Primera is a storage system that lets you mix and match All-Flash drives plus NVM drives. Most of the servers are hosted on Primera, so about 100 users are using this.
I used it purely from an OEM perspective. I used it as a solutions architect working on behalf of our customers. They've got several different versions of Primera. Specifically, it was a Primera 650. They've also got Nimble Storage, GreenLake. The use case was basically application data that was made available for OLTP online transactions. It was designed to have quick access to typical legacy data for online systems and to have high availability.
HPE Primera is being used for server virtualization and critical applications. We have customers in Egypt and they use it for a billing system and an infrastructure database system.

The Primary use case for HPE Primera is moving and storing high performance databases and core infrastructure, virtual machines, SQL databases, et cetera... This is an on-premises solution because right now it is not popular among customers to use hybrid or cloud solutions in the Georgian Republic. Today, it is not common to move compute and storage sources onto the cloud. I don't know what happens in other regions like Europe, but in the Georgia Republic it is not popular.

I work with an HPE authorized partner in Malta and we offer storage solutions for customers. HPE Primera is one such product that I have experience with. We have noticed that these days, most of the customers are implementing a solution that is a hybrid between Nimble and Primera All-Flash. There are both spinning disks and flash, where flash is used as the cache, which makes the price more competitive. The customers are primarily using it for disaster recovery. They have their cluster and they are replicating one another to provide business continuity and disaster recovery applications.
